@NancyMace State income taxes are, well, levied by the state. Property taxes are local. Nobody LIKES paying them, sure. Just how would state and local government be funded otherwise?

Which would you prefer? Eliminate the state income tax or property taxes? Please pick one (although truth be told I want to do both).

Abstract? They are making their case for them and many of us. It's a great deal for both the company (high output worker) and the person doing the work (work life balance factor). That's part of the overall company <> worker agreement. If they force back, high output work becomes a flight risk. Why even worry about it?

Let's make it $45/month for standby. That ok with you? We're finding thresholds of the market. $100/month? I paid full price $700 for a Mini, they offered easy turn off and on in 2024. No extra charge. Then $10 for 10GB full blast plus overages. Ok cool, then $5 to keep the lights on now $10. It's just not feeling great. I'll stay on for now.

Hey @elonmusk and @Starlink, if you can’t provide the service, then don’t sell the hardware. Charging people $10 a month to “hold a spot for service” is just another Elon scam IMO. CANCELLED It’s not the $10, it’s the principle.

I bought the thing full price $679.35 (looking at order from Dec 9th 2024) as a backup internet. Was told you can stop/start it at anytime. Cool. Then they had a good $10/10GB plan. Again, cool for backup. They killed that. Then $5 for like 512kbps or something standby. Now that's back to $10. Feels a little crummy. I'm a supporter, but I'm not using Starlink as primary. It lives in a pelican case 11.5 months out of the year.
