@iWalkOutdoors @Disco_Stooo_ If you are the owner and Ltd then you should be taking dividends as it's the most tax efficient way to pay yourself.

@Disco_Stooo_ Read 👆. And no, I don’t take £Billions in dividends. I don’t take any dividends. How much do you pay yourself?

UK 10-year gilt yields today surged no less than 0.4 percentage points - or 40 basis points - due to fears that Britain is almost uniquely vulnerable among the world's big economies to spiralling fuel food and fuel prices.
The UK is the most inflation-prone economy in the G7. That weakness hasn't been caused, but has been more starkly exposed, by this US/Iran conflict.
So the huge global investors that lend governments money are charging Britain far more than any other G7 nations - more than Spain, Greece and Morocco (!) - to borrow, as compensation for higher expected UK inflation.
A 40bps point move in a single day, on a large-nation sovereign bond market, is a huge and deeply alarming shift.
The UK government's 10-year borrowing cost is now 5.15pc - its highest level since June 2008, just ahead of the global financial crisis.
This is a situation that warrants immediate and determined attention and yet our entire political and media class remains fixated with the ultimate Westminster-centric story – a deeply indulgent row about who knew what, when with regards to the appointment of Peter Mandelson as US Ambassador.
History will not be kind to us ...

What poses the greatest threat to global financial stability?
Increasingly turbulent geopolitics?
US/China trade battles?
Brewing sovereign debt crises?
Or is it AI - artificial intelligence?

Back in 1986, the Commodore 64 took us aboard a luxurious paddle steamer for a gripping murder mystery...
When Activision released Murder on the Mississippi: The Adventures of Sir Charles Foxworth, it delivered one of the most atmospheric detective adventures on the C64.
You stepped into the shoes of the dapper British sleuth Sir Charles Foxworth and his loyal manservant Regis, cruising down the Mississippi on the Delta Princess. A dead body turns your relaxing holiday into a race against time — you have just three days to solve the murder before the ship reaches New Orleans and the killer escapes forever.
What made it special was its innovative joystick-driven interface, point-and-click style commands, beautiful colourful graphics, and a memorable soundtrack by Ed Bogas.
Exploring the steamboat’s decks, questioning suspicious passengers, gathering clues, and avoiding the occasional deadly trap created a real sense of place and tension.
The C64 version was widely regarded as the best of the early ports — vibrant, smooth, and full of character. Magazines loved it too, with scores like 89% in Zzap!64 and strong reviews across the board.
Those late nights spent interrogating suspects, searching cabins, and piecing together the puzzle while the riverboat chugged along...Who else joined Sir Charles on the Delta Princess in Murder on the Mississippi?

Just pointing out that I broke the story 7 months ago that Mandelson failed vetting from the security services and put it to Downing Street...so the idea that Downing Street only found out on Tuesday is complete nonsense.

Au contraire, mon frère! Here's some machine language included in a C program that makes a pretty display:

Chook@ChookMFC
@davepl1968 If you use machine language inside a piece of C code you’ll get an error, even if the machine code is correct.

@Phil_Jones01 @afneil The Labour government started baking their cake many, many months ago. It’s been overdone for months; if they don’t wake up soon, we’re heading for a burnt mess.
English

@afneil I guess you know your economics and economic cycles and that in a period like this after the economic shocks of Covid and Brexit and high inflation when a new government implements a new economic strategy it takes time to kick start growth and patience is required.
