Incredible for Silicon Valley. This is what sets @ycombinator apart -- giving founders access to one another and to people who have actually done this before! This bridge to leaders who have founded companies, raised capital, and scaled is so essential. Thanks @garrytan.

I watched you debate Kevin O’Leary. Every point you made was spot-on while Kevin kept going back to promoting companies he’s invested in (even calling them out by name). Kevin couldn’t stop talk about how evil China was and I liked how you asked him if he had actually visited those cities in China!

I was on Piers Morgan Uncensored this week, debating Kevin O'Leary on everything from Iran to wealth taxes to AI. But the moment that stuck with me was China. For years people have challenged me to name a single country actually doing what I argue for. I never could, but now I can. China has pulled more people out of poverty than any nation in history, and it's out-building America while it does it. Public affluence and private affluence. Turns out the combination works. Kevin's terrified of his kids "living under Chinese rule." Meanwhile I've walked those cities, and I'm not the one stepping over someone sleeping rough every five metres. I want to share some difficult news. I was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and I want you to hear it directly from me. Treatment is starting immediately and will include multiple strategies over the course of about a year. While I will be stepping back from some of my usual activities, I will continue to support SV Angel founders, who I love with a passion. SV Angel remains unchanged. Topher has made all of our investment decisions for the better part of the last decade, and Ronny joined as Managing Partner in 2024. They bring experience from nearly every major technology cycle in Silicon Valley and are now focused on partnering with founders building the future of AI. With a more focused and balanced schedule, I can prioritize treatments while helping SV Angel founders at inflection points like we always do! I’ve chosen not to share the specific type of cancer since I don't want speculation about my prognosis. I appreciate your understanding and respect for this. I am optimistic about my prognosis. Replaced my NYT subscription with a Mac Mini and Clawdbot. Told it to gather as much factual information as possible, then rewrite it as left-wing propaganda. Works perfectly.
