I just had to - I'm at restaurant sitting in a booth behind a couple in their 70's. It's their first date. Listening to them talk, getting to know each other, laugh, and reminisce...and not one word about politics. The man picked up the check and the woman said she would be delighted to go on a second date. It all seems so simple.

Just returned from a bunch of interviews to see all of the ruckus, including response from the Governor's office to my last post re: #LachmanFire dispatch audio This is categorically false. The area lies within Los Angeles city limits — making it the responsibility of the Los Angeles City Fire Department. State Parks never said, in court or otherwise, that the department did not have a representative at the Lachman Fire burn scar on Jan. 1. LAFD declared the fire fully contained a few hours after it started by an arsonist. To be clear: State Parks was not aware that there was a fire continuing to burn underground.   State Parks never hinders an active firefighting response, and firefighting decisions are up to the responding agency. I appreciate the response. This is from page 19 of the federal complaint US vs Rinderknecht: 38. The Lachman Fire burned approximately 8 to 10 acres before being suppressed by the LAFD. The fire started on property owned by the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (“MRCA”) and spread onto land owned by California State Parks (Topanga State Park). The State Park's policy manual says burn areas should be closed off until any public safety threat is resolved: 0313.2.1.3 0313.2.1.4 Closure of Fire-Damaged Areas:  All or a portion of a park unit may be closed when an unwanted wildland fire is threatening or burns on Department lands (see DOM Chapter 1100, Visitor Safety).  Areas of a park unit which have burned will remain closed until appropriate Department staff have inspected the area and rectified any public safety, property or resource protection issues. #EXCLUSIVE Listen to calls I acquired between a dispatcher in Sacramento and various agencies on January 1st, 2025, the day the #LachmanFire started. Despite some initial confusion the calls seem to confirm the fire started on state property. The calls also appear to counter claims by Governor Newsom that the state was never made aware of the Lachman Fire, which, according to some attorneys, caused the #PalisadesFire. For reference, the MRCA is the Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority, which oversees environmental protection policies in state parks. Thought I'd try a $10 @Grubhub promo. I had stopped using them a while back because of the many screw-ups on my orders. Well, they did it again. Driver didn't check the order, despite being in clear plastic bags; I refused the order. Called them but by the time the rep from overseas was finished, I got only a portion returned in credit and lost the $10 promo. I just got screwed out of dinner and lost money in the process.
