Similar to how many are still slowly catching on to FSD, it’s not obvious how good Starlink is. It’s 100% of my daily internet. High usage and storms are not an issue. I’ve had far less connectivity issues than I ever did with spectrum.

Update.. I have been in touch with service. They said it is safe to drive, but it does need addressed. It cannot be fixed via mobile service so they will be towing it to the other coast for repair and providing me with a loaner. Will update on my service experience! Bummed that it has to be taken in at under 700 miles and two weeks old for a mechanical repair but I am impressed so far with the level of communication and the fact that they will tow it in at their expense and also provide alternate transportation.

Really glad David got an autonomous ride, but having 57 in a row with supervisors and then two without is a bit eyebrow raising. Maybe Elon decided to throw him a bone.

@climateyupa @TeslaTrip I see. Is there any data about how often they help make decisions or in what instances? This doesn’t seem then 100% fully unsupervised either, where perhaps a human is helping make decisions at difficult edge cases?

@styleadjacent @TeslaTrip Waymo does have remote supervisors but their capability to control the car is limited. They can help make decisions, but they cannot control the accelerator, wheel, or brakes.

No company has yet to achieve unsupervised.

But in reading the Waymo issues during the SF blackout, it seemed that they had remote human monitors, who helped Waymos make decisions occasionally (but couldn’t keep up when too many Waymos prompted for help). I wonder if Waymo is truly 100% unsupervised?

btw Rivian does not have an idle fee grace period nor an idle fee based on congestion. I stayed 25 minutes after my truck reached 100% (we were getting dinner, slow service) and was charged a $12.50 idle fee Empty station.

@cyrildorsaz @brian4591 @Rivian For me: lots of screen real estate used to show the image of the Rivian, which makes it take longer to get to the controls you want. Also, it’s hard to easily see if charging is scheduled and if the car is currently charging. (Both are shown but not in best way).

@Rivian (3) Seat goes down first when changing between memory seats - my wife and I have very different seating positions. The seat moves forward before moving down, which makes it impossible to sit in the chair while it moves

@Rivian (2) temp controls available - right after starting up car, during reverse usually, the temp controls and seat heat/cool are not accessible, which seems odd as this is the exact time when people want to adjust them - right at the start of a ride.

@Rivian a few requests: (1) scheduled charging at more than one location - I often charge at a family member’s - not just at my home - and want it to wait until midnight to start
