A few thoughts on enforced royalties... I used to be against enforcing royalties through transfer validators. I argued that restricting NFT transfers risks the sovereignty of the digital object. I've since come around and changed my mind. The trading data is clear; royalties get skirted constantly. Whether it's a loss-cut trade, a UI that defaults them off, or something else, the data is undeniable. This isn't about pointing fingers. Most people in this space want us all to win. Royalties are a meaningful part of making that happen. Yes, sovereignty is still a valid concern. But the health of our micro-economy is a more pressing one. And the market's acceptance of updatable metadata already showed us that compromises around sovereignty are possible. That said, the economics need rethinking. If royalties are enforced, something in the range of 5% is a reasonable starting point. Nobody will love that number, but it's better for everyone and a good starting point. From there, artists can factor in supply, type of work, and their own judgment. With our next version of creator contracts, we're moving toward enforced royalties as the default. Any creators who want to opt out will always have that option (sovereign contracts ftw). As always, feedback is welcome and encouraged!

December. I made the hardest call, shut everything down. Fired the entire team, let go of every contractor, and moved to San Francisco with nothing but conviction. January. I didn’t hire people, I built my own team. OpenClaw with ClaudeCode agents. No meetings, no delays, just pure execution. Three months later, the results speak for themselves. What took the old team year, I surpassed in half the time. Faster, sharper, cleaner. Now I can finally say it, all major features of genie.art are done. This is just the beginning. Join the waitlist. Bring your friends. Stay close.

We just released the EF Mandate. The blog expresses our message more fully, but at heart, we started working on this some time ago because Ethereum’s future no longer feels far away. It is already here. And with that comes a deeper responsibility for us: to be clearer about what we are here to protect, and how we must steward Ethereum’s promise. blog.ethereum.org/2026/03/13/ef-… We did not word the Mandate lightly. We honed in on each principle carefully, and deliberately chose every single word. This is our strong commitment, for all of EF, including the board. The principles we listed on the Mandate are not new or a big turn, these are what have been cultivated deep in our technology and our culture for a long time. However there were times we were too implicit about them. We are stating it clearly: that the principles of CROPS are something our members should always prioritize and because we believe that is the only way Ethereum can achieve complete success. The Mandate is not only a constitution, manifesto, and work guideline. For me, it is also a kind of love letter to Ethereum, and to everyone who cares about what it truly makes possible: a digital world that remains open, private, and secure, and gives us a new form of freedom to grow into. And this is not just ours. This is not an obligation to teams outside of EF by any means, but it is for anyone to freely adopt if relevant. Also if anyone feels this resonates, it means you are a fellow steward of the garden and we look forward to working with you 🌱 Special thanks to @pcaversaccio @_Enoch @LefterisJP @mashbean and others who gave us valuable feedback and advice! And to @tomosaito and to @shiro57102 for the beautiful art 🤍 ! EF Mandate : ethereum.foundation/ef-mandate.pdf

Today, the Foundation’s Board released the EF Mandate. This document, which was first intended for EF members, reaffirms the promise of Ethereum, and the role of EF within this ecosystem.

"Madam rug" and "Space escape" are two digital collages that took part in a @SuperchiefNFT's collage oriented curation named Everything but the Kitchen Knife in 2023. 🔪 This one was followed by a second exhibition one year later, named Junk Drawer. 🗑️ These two works were priced 0.4 ETH during that time. I felt it was a honest price considering their quality. After some time, I decided to reprice the collection accordingly to the market - this is not a thing I do so often. So I lowered the reserve prices of all the artworks of the Collage tales collection to 0.1 ETH. This price includes a curator's fee that will be paid to Superchief. Both "Madam rug" and "Space escape" are still available on @Foundation, waiting for the right collector. They're part of the Collage tales collection, a series of digital collages that invites the viewer to go deep into the works seeing the details and giving their own interpretation of the work based on the elements I added. These works have been unsold for almost three years now. I didn't burn them, even if I couldn't seel them for so much time, because to me it makes completely no sense to burn an unsold work - unless it's to change the smart contract it's sitting on Remember: NFTs = Provenance.

What is 20i and why it matters: 20i started from a simple question: why are tokens just numbers, and why is most digital art static once it’s minted? Crypto gave us ownership and liquidity, NFTs gave us culture and identity, but they largely lived in separate worlds. 20i brings those worlds together. At its core, 20i is a token standard that allows art, state, and logic to live inside a fungible token. It’s still an ERC-20: tradable, composable, usable across DeFi, but it can also visually and functionally evolve on-chain based on how it’s held or interacted with. A big inspiration for this was ordinals. The idea that art and culture should live directly on-chain, not abstracted away or hosted elsewhere. Ordinals showed that permanence and on-chain presence matter. 20i takes that philosophy and modernizes it within Ethereum’s programmable environment. That’s the technical leap. Instead of: -Tokens that do nothing but move -NFTs that look cool but stay static 20i enables living assets: -Art that changes over time -Tokens that reflect participation or usage -Assets that can plug into apps, games, and communities Liquidity without sacrificing identity From a tech perspective, developers don’t need new wallets, new chains, or custom infrastructure. 20i works today with existing Ethereum tooling. Projects can adopt it incrementally- as art, as mechanics, or as a core asset without rebuilding their stack. From an art perspective, 20i advances on-chain creativity. It treats digital art less like a finished object and more like a system- something that can grow, respond, and carry meaning over time while remaining fully on-chain. That’s why 20i isn’t just “another token” or “another NFT format.” It’s a new primitive.. one that expands what crypto assets can be and how culture can exist on-chain. We’ve been building this for almost two years through real adversity. It started out strong, with the projects you see today adopting the tech early, but after that, progress slowed and not much was shipped or deployed publicly. That’s the honest truth. What matters is that it didn’t stop. And now that’s changing. Creative builders are stepping in, new ideas are being pushed, and you’re about to see what 20i can actually do beyond the existing examples. If you’re new, curious, or skeptical, take a look around. Ask questions. Explore the tech. This is about pushing crypto and digital art forward, not chasing a cycle.

However, now that I'm here for good (I hope lol) it's clear there are two things wrong with continuing to use it: 1) It's the likeness of Tommie Smith. I love Dr. Smith and everything he stands for, but I do not have permission to use his likeness 2) Despite numerous attempts I have never been able to track down the artist. So not only is this not an NFT, I've been using it without their permission too

I'm going to spend $100k this year buying cryptoart from artists trying to get established. It'll come out to around 1E per week. It's not nearly enough but hopefully it helps. @musicalnetta, who is way better at this than I am, will be helping me. Here's how it works:
