Renowned investor and philanthropist Mohnish Pabrai on the single worst reason to start a company: "When we embark on a startup, we should never do a startup to make money. It's the worst reason to start a company." It's a bold claim, especially in a world where valuations, funding rounds, and exit strategies dominate the startup conversation. So if money shouldn't be the goal, what should be? "The purpose of business is not to make money. The purpose of business is to deliver an incredible product or service to humanity." The distinction matters. Founders who chase profit first tend to optimise for the wrong things, while founders who chase genuine value creation tend to build something people actually want. And when you get that right, the financial reward takes care of itself: "If you do that, the money is a side effect. It'll happen. We don't need to focus on it." @MohnishPabrai leaves aspiring founders with one essential question to ask themselves before starting anything: "Do we have a product or a service that we are thinking about that we could bring into this world that is going to improve the world in some way?" That's the filter. Not "can this make money?" but "can this make a difference?"

Appeal to Hon'ble FM @nsitharaman ji to please correct two key legacy anomalies on the GST Rates. @nsitharamanoffc 1) Auto LPG, a clean, very low-carbon fuel, is taxed @18% under GST, not encouraging people to convert to this clean fuel. Also, results in a significant illegal diversion of domestic LPG (taxed @5%), to Auto LPG, considering the rate differential, resulting in a loss to the exchequer and also several safety incidents. Even the conversion kits for Auto LPG are currently taxed @ 28% 2 ) Another very significant issue is the taxation of Marine Outboard Motors @ 28% GST. These marine motors are mostly used by our rural fishermen, who are mostly daily wage earners, and are unable to use any input tax credit and this, makes it very difficult and punishing for them. Appeal to FM that all Marine Outboards under 25 HP be taxed @5% resulting in a massive relief to our fishing community across the country. @Min_FAHD @FisheriesGoI @PRupala It would also send a clear message of empathy to the community. A sincere appeal to @RamMNK @mohol_murlidhar @MoCA_GoI @AAI_Official @DGCAIndia @PMOIndia @narendramodi Most Indian airports without aerobridges still use steep, narrow staircases (like the ones seen in the last image)—causing huge inconvenience to: ✅ Elderly ✅ Children ✅ Differently-abled ✅ Anyone carrying cabin baggage (i.e., almost every flyer) These traditional stairs are: 🔺 Too steep 🔺 Slippery in rains 🔺 Physically demanding 🔺 Risky for descent, especially for the elderly In contrast, airlines like @IndiGo6E have adopted gentler, ramp-integrated staircases (seen in images 2 & 3) for almost 10 years now. These: 🔹 Allow a smoother, safer ascent/descent 🔹 Reduce chances of injury 🔹 Are better suited for today’s flying population 🔹 Uphold the dignity and comfort of every traveller Sirs, shouldn’t such infrastructure become the new standard across India? If private airlines can implement these independently, why not make it a mandatory best practice at all airports where aerobridges aren’t available?
