Lawyer and really really AMAZING half-marathon runner. So quick, in fact, that the photographer wasn't able to get my whole profile in shot.

#easyjet 2/2 She’s still down as a passenger for a flight to a family wedding in 48hrs time. I can’t log in properly. I have to pay extra for baggage. I’ve spent 10+ hours trying to sort this. You have utterly compounded my grief.

#easyjet 1/2 I have told you in multiple emails over the last three months that my wife died in Feb; I need to transfer ‘booker’ to me; and cancel her ticket. I’ve sent her death certificate 3 times (acknowledged).

@MoJGovUK Welcome back! My favourite Lord Bellamy quote is when he said in 2021 that criminal legal aid needs to be increased “as soon as possible” and that there was “no scope for further delay”.
I wonder what his view is of the MoJ’s decision to delay any increase to 2024/25?

@pritipatel @BorisJohnson You have achieved nothing other than to make our country smaller and meaner. You took pleasure in cruelty; most enthusiastically so when you could target it at society’s most vulnerable. Your departure improves politics more than anything else in your career has or ever could.

This is why we are striking.
These are the prosecutors, defenders and judges of tomorrow, being paid less than minimum wage.
We lost 40% of them in a single year.
And @DominicRaab won’t even consider getting off his deckchair to do anything about it.

Today I prosecuted an application to dismiss, covering someone else’s case. That is an application made on behalf a defendant, where the defence say there is not sufficient evidence for a jury to convict. /1

1. Me, (last night), explaining to my brother why my trial this week didn’t go ahead… 2. My brother taking less time than @DominicRaab to get the perfectly obvious point. @TheCriminalBar @CourtsIdle

You will struggle to find a better article that perfectly encapsulates the issues affecting both barristers and solicitors when it comes to publicly funded criminal defence.

Policy advisor to lord chancellor @DominicRaab gets £73,500 - £117,800 a year + pension - to help him cook up drivel, like he spouted to @MailOnline today.
Junior criminal barristers earn £12,200 a year to uphold rule of law.
Is this right, Mr Raab?

It is a poor reflection of how our society values the things that are important that many criminal barristers do not even earn a living wage whereas those of us arguing about money and property are generally well paid. I fully support @TheCriminalBar

Evidence, if it were needed, of how little @jcartlidgemp understood the basics of his brief as justice minister.
His brilliant plan would
(A) Cost far more than it costs to pay independent barristers
(B) Instantly create a national shortage of barristers available to prosecute

Client of good character. Offence date Jan 2020, trial supposed to start this week, just been adjourned to Nov 2023, due to no judge available . Don’t believe anybody who tells you the CJS is properly funded or fit for purpose @DominicRaab

Today my attempted murder trial (pros) was adjourned. The court building is not fit to be opened. No funding to fix it. I have done weeks and weeks of prep for which I get paid £0. It has been listed for 2023 when I cant be there. @JoSidhuQC @DominicRaab @Kirsty_Brimelow

Dozens of trials will be postponed this week because @MoJGovUK and @DominicRaab can't be bothered to talk to @TheCriminalBar about settling our dispute. Meanwhile more juniors will leave crime for better paid work and the backlog of cases will only get longer. It's Raab's fault.
