Canton just entered one of the shortest lists in crypto:
networks with a US-listed ETF.
What’s going to be really interesting is whether institutions already involved in the Canton ecosystem start allocating to this ETF.

If you're building a DeFi protocol on any public chains (EVM, Solana…) and want to tap into billions $ of private RWAs coming from Canton without breaking privacy, we’re working on making that possible.
Bringing institutional assets onchain is step one, making them usable + interoperable in DeFi while preserving privacy is step two.

@neuralunlock A decentralized stablecoin on @CantonNetwork could be a great idea as privacy is already native if it's built in DAML.
Private permissionless DeFi on Canton will be huge (yes on a user pov anyone can interact with permissionless protocols).

I get your point @itsbhaji but Canton is actually one of the few examples where the goal is NOT to keep everything stuck in offchain paperwork.
On most RWA setups today, the token is onchain but everything else still happens through PDFs, legal back-and-forth, manual approvals, reconciliation, etc.
With Canton + DAML, a lot of this coordination can actually become programmable:
• who can hold the asset
• who can transfer it
• compliance checks
• approvals between parties
• lifecycle events
The workflow itself becomes shared state between institutions instead of endless offchain coordination.
And that’s why institutions are looking at it seriously.

My post was not specifically about DTCC-issued RWAs. The broader thesis is that any asset on Canton that wants DeFi utility on public chains will eventually need interoperability.
DTCC already mentioned working with multiple chains, so interoperability needs are likely inevitable.
And on the “independent bridges” point, we’re collaborating with teams like LayerZero and others, so the goal is coordinated infra, not isolated bridge layers.

both, actually canton gives them the permissioned feel with public infra. but once tokenized treasuries need to flow into broader defi liquidity, FHE on public rails becomes the path the real unlock is interop - layerzero bridging canton assets into zama-secured public environments. institutions start controlled, expand as privacy tech matures that's the phased game unfolding now
