The problem with anti-Mormons is that none of their counterfactuals can trump the lived evidence of our lives and they can't offer a better alternative. You can't tell me bacon is bad when the entirety of my life says otherwise and you haven't got a better alternative.

Something to consider: Not everyone who disagrees with you is "Anti-Mormon." I, for example, do not hate you and do not consider you an enemy. I am forbidden by my faith to have true enemies, save only the Flesh, the World, and the devil. I present information to you - even information you dislike - b/c you need to know it. I cannot in good conscience refuse to tell you, like Jonah before Ninevah. Stop thinking of people like me as anti-Mormons and enemies, and your entire perspective will change.

@VbcApologetics @LukeFHan You are moving the goalposts, you originally stated that John Turner was saying that Joseph started as a conman and then eventually believed it. The point isn't that Turner believes the truth claims, just that he rejects the conman theory.

@LukeFHan Keep reading. Why does Turner resist (not reject) those words? When he says that Joseph "saw the Lord" what exactly does Turner mean by that Phrase? That He, Turner, believes the first vision? Or that He believes Joseph believed it, i.e., was deluded? Try to resist eisegesis.

Non-LDS historian John Turner on Joseph Smith being a con-man "I resist words like charlatan or fraud. I don't think they're adequate at all to understanding Joseph Smith, partly because I don't think a single thing ever really just defines a human being.... I can't quite get inside Joseph's mind in every respect, but I can't imagine living through [the Kirtland temple era], that he did not think of himself as God's prophet."

The single most man centered religion in the world is Mormonism. Mans goal in Mormonism is to become a god. Or "like God" for the Neo Mormons out there. Isa 43:7 You are here for Gods glory. The chief end of man is to glorify and enjoy God forever. Anything else is idolatry

The Jazz have never moved up a single spot in the NBA Draft Lottery’s history. Utah has also never selected at No. 1 overall. If you’re looking for a team historically overdue for lottery luck, Utah stands out. Full circle: AJ Dybantsa attended high school and college in Utah.

@hasbullafancam @esidery You probably follow a few teams and a handful of players. But are ignorant to what happens in most of the league.

@hasbullafancam @esidery Saying you don't follow the NBA is the nicer option. You either don't follow it, or you're stupid. From your last comment, I stand by what I said. You don't follow the NBA.

@minato808 @esidery The number 1 pick going to Utah would be very strong evidence that the draft isn't rigged.

@hcorvinNYC @dansingdidact @bumbadum14 I think it would be prudent for Wisconsin to count their votes differently. How fair an election looks, is almost as relevant as how fair the election is. All votes should be counted during the day for the same reason. Big swings in the dark of the night can create suspicion.

@tompsitompsito @dansingdidact @bumbadum14 Okay, thanks for clarifying, but I think you answered the question yourself better than me: Wisconsin counts their votes in larger batches. I didn't know that. If a batch comes from a heavily urban area, it is bound to lean very heavily blue.

You’re totally unreasonable if you think going to sleep and Trump having a super majority, then waking up the day after Election Day and: - every swing state suddenly froze their counting - multiple key swing counties had various catastrophic events - every polling station boarded windows to prevent media oversight - this fucking graph

“Reasonable minds can disagree about the 2020 election.” No, they can’t. If you think the 2020 election was stolen, you are not a reasonable person. If you make that claim in a court of law and advise your client to act on that fraudulent premise, you should be disbarred.

@hcorvinNYC @dansingdidact @bumbadum14 When I say they jump evenly, I mean that they have the same shape. It can still be 60/40, that's exactly what you would expect in a red or blue district. I don't think you'll find anything as extreme as the Wisconsin map (Wisconsin counts their votes in larger batches).

What would constitute a good example? Define it precisely, I will do my best to find one. In the meantime, look at this. There is a spike in Ohio - that shows up both both the blue and red line, but is much stronger towards the red. This is dozens of thousands of votes getting included into the system. What explains this sudden wave of overwhelmingly red votes?

@RRobecuba @airynne @hcorvinNYC @bumbadum14 The problem is that none of these examples show a red spike without a corresponding blue spike. The Kansas example actually shows steeper blue jumps than red. What most people miss in the Wisconsin map, is that there IS a slight red jump. It's just a lot smaller than usual.

@hcorvinNYC @dansingdidact @bumbadum14 None of these are great examples, the red and blue jump evenly in every one of them. The KS map even shows a larger blue jump than red. Not to say that there isn't a slight jump in the red along with the blue on the original post. Just pointing out, that these are bad examples.

@murninski @kirkmckee13 @UteFanIvan By their own count, 97% of pregnant women who go to Planned Parenthood get an abortion. I don't care how many other services they get while there. Movie theaters only make 10% of their profit from ticket sales. That doesn't change the primary reason people are at the theater.

As an adoptee, it’s always so interesting to see how people on different spots of the political spectrum interpret my worth as a human. The far left thinks my mom should have aborted me. Because as I was unwanted by her, it would have been better for her. The far right thinks I’m not an actual member of my family because “adoption doesn’t count.” It used to be exhausting until I just decided that both of them have the emotional and intellectual capabilities of a sea sponge. But if they get to use their free speech to spout nonsense like this into the world, then I can use mine to try and bring some common sense into it.
jezz@JezziiB

Hot fucking take: Forcing birth just to dump a baby into adoption is way more unethical than having an abortion.
