A look back at Geddy Lee of Rush and the legendary Trident A-Range console in Quebec's Le Studio where masterpieces like Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures came to life in the ‘80s.

The Netherlands figured something out decades ago that many countries are still catching up to.
Instead of treating roadside verges as wasted space that just needs constant mowing, they started managing them as ecological corridors.
What might look like simple grass strips along highways is often part of a carefully planned system of ecological roadside management letting native wildflowers grow, mowing less frequently, and timing cuts to protect pollinators.
In the Netherlands, this shift matters a lot. Road edges, dikes, and medians aren’t just infrastructure margins they’re some of the most connected semi-natural habitats in the landscape.
The approach is coordinated by agencies alongside provinces and municipalities, aligning road safety with biodiversity goals instead of treating them as opposites.
The result isn’t just prettier roads. It’s continuous habitat for pollinators, better connectivity between fragmented ecosystems, and often lower long-term maintenance costs because you’re not repeatedly mowing and replanting sterile grass.
It’s a simple idea with a big implication: infrastructure doesn’t have to be ecologically neutral. Even the edges of roads can work for nature if you design them that way from the start.

Taking a break from my apolitical stance to say this: The country would be better served by the Republican party of 1862 than the worthless one of 2026.

Our world today is full of religious people, but many of them shy away from using that word to describe themselves. “Religious” has too many negative connotations, as far as they’re concerned. So instead, they use a different word: spiritual. They’ll describe themselves as “very spiritual” and then will add, “But I’m not into organized religion.”
Statements like this can become a segue for sharing the gospel. As believers we can say, “Really? I’m a spiritual person, too. In fact, I’m really into spiritual things, and I want to talk to you about an important spiritual truth I’ve discovered.”
Some people may suggest that this sounds like compromise, agreeing with a worldly point of view. But that’s not the case. It’s not a compromise to acknowledge someone’s belief, even if we don’t agree with that belief. Rather, it’s simply a matter of using understandable language to build a bridge so that you can talk about your relationship with Jesus Christ. It’s a matter of finding common ground, a place where the other person feels conversationally comfortable—and more likely to be receptive to the gospel message.

I have started something new on YouTube.
This first song is called You Have Been My Song. It is a Psalm inspired worship song of thanksgiving to the Lord for who He is and what He has done.
The lyrics came from my heart through the language of the Psalms. The music was created with AI assistance under my direction, with a gentle Indian Carnatic inspired sound and flute led arrangement. I wanted it to be quiet, worshipful, and soothing, not for entertainment, but to help the heart pause and remember the mercy and faithfulness of God.
We live in a noisy world, and many songs today stir the emotions without feeding the soul. My desire with this channel is simple. To create Christ centred worship and Scripture shaped songs that lead us back to the Lord, not to ourselves.
Please listen when you have a quiet moment. If the song blesses you, subscribe to the channel, share it with someone who needs encouragement, and help this reach more hearts.

“An extra hour of light in the evening reduces sleep duration by an average of 19 minutes… Discontinuity in the timing of natural light has significant effects on health outcomes typically associated with circadian rhythms disruptions (eg obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and breast cancer) and economic performance (per capita income).”

🚨 US House Energy/Commerce Committee today amended the Sunshine Protection Act into the Motor Vehicle Modernization Act. If approved by Congress, it would mandate permanent Daylight Saving Time in all states that don’t self-exempt in advance, with no option for exemption after taking effect. 🧐 Permanent DST is a mandate to start work/school an hour earlier than Standard Time in unnatural darkness all winter. It would put sunrise in most states past 8am for 3+ months, and past 8:45am for 1+ weeks. It chronically deprives sleep, decreases productivity (by 5%), and increases illnesses and accidents (by 20%). It was last implemented in the US in 1974 and repealed the same year following deaths and disruptions to commerce. 👉 Tell your US House reps asap to amend MVMA (H.R.7389) to remove SPA (H.R.139) or to reword for nationwide restoration of permanent Standard Time with a clearer option for the minority of states to choose unhealthy/unsafe permanent DST by advancement of their own time zones if so strongly desired (though why DST proponents don’t simply start their own days an hour early remains boggling).

We live in a world of shortcuts — same-day delivery, instant downloads, fast-tracked everything. So when life hands us a slow, hard season, we instinctively look for the quickest way out.
But the strongest character isn't microwaved. It's slow-cooked over years of trials accepted, temptations resisted, and seasons endured. The very thing we want to skip is the very thing forming us. There's no app for spiritual maturity — only the long, faithful walk of trusting God through what we'd rather avoid.
What "test" might God be using to build endurance in you right now?

The AASM’s position statement clearly states that Permanent standard time best aligns with human circadian biology and best supports public health and safety yet a bill including the Sunshine Protection Act, which would make daylight saving time permanent across the country will have a vote tomorrow in the U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee. Tell your congressperson to VOTE NO on the inclusion of the Sunshine Protection Act in HR 7389, the Motor Vehicle Modernization Act.
