USCAP was saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Christopher D.M. Fletcher. Dr. Fletcher was an exceptional and innovative pathologist who dedicated many years in service to USCAP, including serving as President. He will be missed both personally and professionally.

@james_y_zou @dev_n18 @NatureMedicine Thank you very much, Professor Zou. I am a resident of pathology, how can we use this PLAP for our daily AP training? Still reading and learning this model. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

⚡️Excited to share our new @NatureMedicine paper where we used Twitter to build a vision-language foundation #AI for #pathology nature.com/articles/s4159… We curated >100K public Twitter threads w/ medical images+text to create PLIP for semantic search and 0-shot pred. All our data (OpenPath): tinyurl.com/openpathdata Open source PLIP: huggingface.co/spaces/vinid/w… Getting sufficient data is a key bottleneck for medical AI. This work shows how we can harness the tremendous medical knowledge openly shared on social media to develop models. We used multiple filters to improve Twitter data quality. PLIP performs well for 0-shot classifications, fine-tuning, and image and text-based retrievals. Great work by @ZhiHuangPhD @federicobianchy @mertyuksekgonul and Tom Montine 👏 And thanks to support from @StanfordHAI @StanfordMed!
