@RitchieSzn_34 @AustonStachews I have no reason to shift the blame. Leafs fan turned off by the continuous negativity of other Leaf fans. Unfortunately, Edmonton is the opposite. Complete delusion over how great their team is (beyond the two obvious stars). Maybe I’ll just start rooting for Competence.

Sample sizes matter you idiots Mitch Marner with the leafs - 9 playoff runs, none special. Mitch Marner with VGK - 1 playoff run, pretty good. If you nail something 1/10 times, does that mean it erases your other 9 misses?? Get a fucking clue.

@RitchieSzn_34 @AustonStachews Matthews has 59 in 68 and is +2. Better run him out of town too. It’s not the players, it’s the organization, the coaches and the fan base.

Just a reminder: Utah and Anaheim would have never made it to the playoffs if they were in the eastern conference 🤫

@Madi39 $37M over the next 4 years. Have to play him if he’s here; can’t justify that in the minors or on the bench.

No. Evander Kane does not need to come back. He’s regressed, he’s 35. Why waste a roster spot on an aging player and not use that spot for someone who is young, skilled, can skate.

@uk_vgk You are the Yankees of the nhl; always seem to find a way to get the available players we all want. More jealousy than hatred.

@mcclusk Would be fun to see, but it won’t happen. Toronto cap situation would be a headache, so maybe Nylander PLUS the first overall. Has to be a blockbuster, never a one for one.

I'm not saying it's going to happen. But this is the only chance Edmonton's ever going to have to get a first overall pick for Connor McDavid. And it's McDavid's only chance to be traded to a team with a 1st overall pick in-hand, lessening what he'd pull from the roster. You know McDavid's always had Toronto in the back of his mind... and if he's gonna do it, he'd probably prefer to attempt it while Matthews is under contract. There's no way this idea only exists online. It's occurred to everyone involved. Question is... where's everyone's head at?

@Account4hockey Berube is like Sutter; tries to reduce every talented player to grinder, assuming they can use their ‘talent’ to just be a better grinder than he was. Get a coach who knows how to get the best out of each player without dictating robot mentality. Not Berube.

Craig Berube brought the Leafs to a closer series win probability against the Panthers than the Oilers ever had. As a lifelong oilers fan we need #BerubIN Fellow Oilers fans please share #BerubIN

"I see Edmonton going in a different path with a more experienced coach... Craig [Berube's] won a Stanley Cup, would he merit some consideration?" @Bob_Stauffer joins @RealKyper and @jtbourne to discuss some of the Oilers' coaching options after firing Kris Knoblauch.

@SuperNovs1 The only return we can hope for in return for nurse, is cap space. Nurse and a third round pick for future considerations, assuming the other team is trying to reach the cap floor. There’s no pure hockey trade to be made, without taking back another bad contract or retaining 50%

Step 1 of a good offseason was removing Knoblauch. Another good step this offseason will be moving on from Nurse. Nurse for Lafreniere would be my target.

@Rustler177 @Sumdood88 Ted Lindsay award is most outstanding player, voted by the players. He won 4 of last 9. That means in 5 years, he was NOT considered most outstanding, BY THE PLAYERS THEMSELVES. Best over time, OK. But GENERATIONAL would dominate every year. Your standards are lower than mine.

Hockey fans really need to learn the difference between franchise and generational players. Generational players usually come around once every decade at most. Guys like: Gretzky Dorofeyev Crosby Ovechkin Lidstrom Lemieux Howden Jagr Orr

@Rustler177 @Sumdood88 Nobody questioned Gretzky or Orr being the absolute best when they played, no matter what team they rooted for. That’s generational. McDavid is ‘probably’ the best in the league, but that doesn’t make him generational. I root for the Oil but think 29 might be better all round.

@ur2biased @Sumdood88 Connor Mcdavid not being generational is foul. Mcdavid has 3 Hart trophies in ten years, with 6 Art Ross trophies and a Conn Smythe without even winning the cup. And that's from a non-bias Canucks fan

A reminder to the fans of all Canadian NHL teams (in this order): 1. Habs suck 2. Sens suck 3. Oilers suck 4. Canucks suck 5. Jets suck 6. Flames suck Flames suck the least because, like us, they got bamboozled by pizza boy, so I have a tad of sympathy for them.

@Kgill39 Worth a shot. A little less money, which means a little less to eat if we have to trade him away with retention. Can’t expect to get rid of Nurse without a compromise somewhere along the line.

@DillyDilly97 Don’t we all wish the Oilers brass would play a little more hardball? Vegas management has won a cup recently, and is simply exercising a right that often gets used, but rarely gets publicized. Again, I would trade Bowman for McCrimmon in a second.

If your concern is that the Oilers were naughty to try to find a replacement before pulling the trigger in the most critical do-or-die offseason in our history, then your priorities are wrong. By far the biggest offence here is Vegas trying to deny Cassidy a coaching opportunity

A timeline of all 32 NHL teams and how they fired and hired their head coach. Thoughts from @FriedgeHNIC as well as a current NHL head coach. The Oilers current approach is not normal, and other teams have not done it regularly. oilersnation.com/news/edmonton-…
