💢 BREAKING: Multiple residents in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran, reported hearing repeated explosions around 1:30–1:43 a.m., including at least three to four blasts in quick succession, according to messages circulating online cited by Faytuks News. Iran’s Fars News Agency also reported that three explosions were heard in eastern Bandar Abbas around 1:30 a.m., adding that the exact source remains unclear and investigations are ongoing. Fars also said air defenses in the city were briefly activated. Witnesses said the sounds came from the eastern part of the city near the airport and Behesht Bandar area. One person reported hearing a fighter jet before the explosions, while another said the blasts sounded like surface-to-air missile fire.

Trump was defeated in 2020, only to return in an even more dangerous form four years later. So we already know that it is not enough to beat MAGA once at the ballot box.
If Dems don't pair their next electoral victory with Mamdani's commitment to positively improving people’s lives, rather than Spanberger's model of selling out to corporations, we are going to be right back in the maws of fascism one election later. And this time, we might not be facing an authoritarian as incompetent and self-defeating as Trump has been.

Very important points made here.
Though it was exaggerated, there was a period in which Israel could act as the gatekeeper for Middle Eastern states seeking to reach the US.
The UAE's unwise bet on the Abraham Accords was based on the notion that this Israeli-favoured period would last for decades. Less than a decade later, realities have changed dramatically: Israel's standing in the US has plummeted while the shift toward multipolarity has helped increase the maneuverability and influence of some key Arab states.
Incidentally, Israeli officials who dealt with the Shah of Iran told me in interviews that the Iranian ruler had an exaggerated view of the influence of Israel over US media. Instead of dispelling it, Shimon Peres chose to use it to Israel's advantage by telling the Shah that Israel would push a more Shah-friendly line in the US media if Iran did various things for Israel...

Saudi Arabia is a continental-scale country, the birthplace of Islam, one of the world’s richest energy powers, and a state with global influence across the Arab and Muslim worlds. It can buy technology from the U.S., China, Europe, Japan, South Korea, or build its own. So what exactly does Israel add? Israel is not a strategic asset to Saudi Arabia. At best, it is a functional subcontractor in security and technology. A tool, not a civilizational center of gravity. The assumption that every Arab state must orbit Israel is a fantasy produced by Israeli self-importance, not geopolitical reality.

Ben-Ami, who leads one of the most prominent pro-Israel lobbying groups in the U.S., responds that Israel cannot remain both democratic and permanently rule over Palestinians without equal rights, arguing for a roughly “78-22” division along the 1967 Green Line as the only alternative to an apartheid system of separate laws and unequal rights.

Israel is now openly ordering the displacement of two major Lebanese cities: Tyre &Nabatiyeh.
Not border villages. Entire urban centres filled with civilians, hospitals, schools & refugee camps.
They call them “evacuation orders.”
In reality, it is the forced emptying of southern Lebanon under the threat of annihilation.
The message is simple: leave or die.
At some point, people need to stop pretending this is about “security” & start confronting what it increasingly looks like: the clearing of land for long-term expansionist aims.

▪️The financial fund set up by the World Bank for Trump’s Board of Peace has received no money from donors four months after its establishment, the Financial Times reported, citing four people familiar with the matter.
▪️Instead, donations have been routed through a JPMorgan account with no independent transparency requirements.
▪️ Morocco’s ~$20 million has funded the office of Nickolay Mladenov, the board’s ‘high representative’ for postwar Gaza, and salaries for a Palestinian technocratic committee. The UAE provided $100 million to train a Gaza police force, but the program has yet to start and the funds are frozen.
▪️ Member states had pledged $7 billion for the board’s Gaza relief package and Trump promised a further $10 billion in U.S. funding.
▪️”Not one US dollar has been deployed for the rebuilding of Gaza,” two people familiar with postwar planning told the FT. No reconstruction contracts have been awarded.
