By curtailing freedom of speech,the govt. runs the risk of suppressing voices that could contribute positively to development of peace. Miss Donngaihching Hangzo is a mentally challenged woman who lives in Imphal all by herself. She is usually seen wandering about in Lamphel area by passerbys or locality people. Video taken on 4th May shows Miss Donggaihching taking her usual walk while everyone is running away for their lives. She insisted on staying back even after neighbours persuaded her,leaving no choice but to comply to her. However this morning news of her being shot dead circulated with a fake narrative that she was a suicide bomber. A day after a massive revelation from Meitei Leepun Chief, Mr Pramot Singh, COCOMI announced 'Manipuri National War' against Chin-Kuki groups yesterday. The declaration also went on to state that 'No arms will be submitted/surrendered ' also no operation should be allowed to be carried out in Meitei Areas. This only implies that they still have all the weapons that were handed over to them from govt armories. General Tintong Haokip, the Chief of Laijang (Tamenglong), was a prominent leader during the Anglo-Kuki War that took place from 1917 to 1919. However, In recent You Tube video interviewed with Karan Thapar there is a dissenting voice in Mr. Pramot Singh, an extremist Meetei Leepun leader, who denies the existence of the Anglo-Kuki War. He holds an anti-Kuki stance and claims that the war was a fabrication by the British, orchestrated to gain attention from the Indian media. Contrary to Mr. Singh's assertions, historical records substantiate the occurrence of the Anglo-Kuki War. Despite this, he harbors deep-seated animosity and seeks to erase this significant chapter in Kuki history.
