@LKissling03 This is also the idea of the “ideal partner” that is expected to adhere to your every need without complaint, which is unrealistic but is often expected especially with women.

@jimrpi I think there’s a also the different power dynamic between genders, where in ‘Coin-operated Boy’ the singer (girl) acts gives direct instructions to the boy that would satisfy her, whereas in the myth Perseus obeyed the king in order to win his daughters hand in marriage.

@Rhodesch435 @ymhrip @cccjayrpi Yes! I was thinking about this and how different male and female Androids were divided in terms of occupations as well. Female Androids were often used as caretakers or sex workers, and mostly targeted towards the pleasure of men.

@ymhrip @cccjayrpi Interesting point. There's a videogame called Detroit: Become Human that kind of focuses on this. Mistreatment of a minority and the bizarre consequences. It kind of leads back to the question of can a robot feel emotion? Pain?

@MeopleSC I agree and I think that regarding Clinton, her moment of spotlight was when people were reacting to the severed head as a harmless joke, and the light fades away when Clinton actually speaks out and brings up her genuine fears and feelings.
