Modern Wars Are About Missiles. Has Air Superiority Ended? youtu.be/NAOCp7Lt7_0?si… via @YouTube@adgpi@IAF_MCC@indiannavy@SpokespersonMoD@PMOIndia@SandeepUnnithan and I had a terrific discussion across the table on the The Iranian Model and Why Firepower Is India's Future Defense Strategy
I highlighted how modern warfare has shifted toward missiles and drones as primary tools of strategic influence. Using the #IranianModel and the #UkraineConflict as examples, I argue that high-tech #AirForces are increasingly vulnerable and expensive compared to cost-effective, land-based rocket systems. #India must prioritize building a robust missile inventory and indigenous firepower to overcome dwindling fighter squadron numbers and maintain a credible deterrent. Furthermore, military strength should be viewed as political firepower, designed to achieve specific national objectives rather than just conventional battlefield victories. A doctrinal shift that integrates technology with political strategy to address the unique challenges posed by nuclear-armed neighbors is the need of the hour. The main points of note are as under:-
The Iranian Model: Iran demonstrated military resilience against the US by utilizing missiles and drones effectively, despite lacking a traditional navy or air force.
India’s Capability Gap: With a dwindling air force of only 29 squadrons and a decade-long lead time for new jets, India must prioritize "missiles in numbers" to maintain a credible defense.
Cost Efficiency: Missiles are far more cost-effective and easier to produce indigenously; for the price of one Rafale, India could deploy 100 rocket launchers.
Shifting Global Trends: Generals from the Ukraine-Russia conflict agree that tanks and aircraft are becoming weapons of the past, while the future is defined by UAVs and long-range digital systems.
Effect over Platform: During #OpSindoor, ground-based artillery and missiles achieved significant results, proving the effect on the target matters more than whether a weapon is launched from the air or ground.
Vulnerability of Aircraft: Modern platforms are increasingly vulnerable to systems like the S-400, making absolute air superiority difficult to achieve against well-equipped adversaries.
Political Firepower: War should be viewed as "politics by other means"; Iran used its missile capabilities to exert political pressure and target strategic centers of gravity like the Strait of Hormuz.
The "Happy Mix": The future of Indian defense lies in a balanced integration of guns, rockets, missiles, drones, and aircraft.

@mkohli75@kunalrv True, everything is in Vedas, we all should shut mouth and keep quiet. It's a different thing that we will not read Vedas or itjihada, we will not apply practically anything, except cry foul that , he it's in our vedas
Let me tell you a fun fact.....
China has 7 million Software engineers
India 6 million
USA 4.4 million
Among these 3.....
Only India couldn't produce even 1 App, Website, Operating System, Database, Cloud platform, CDN, AI or even Social media that is used by the world
@ShineHamesha@CoderUday The question was simple. Name the Apps developed by Indians and used by the world.
Typical Indian mentality of evading the question
Where do you think the UPI and govt's apps run? It's govt private cloud platform and data centre.
What do you think our Super Computer Param runs on? Without OS?
Where do you think we got our navigation in operation sindoor from? Our indigenous GPS system.
Our indigenous AI with our own LLM in major Indian languages is rolling out by the end of the year.
@CoderUday Because everthing was in Vedas. Our ancestors knew everything. We are the proud descendants of such Vedic knowledge. So don't say India doesn't produce a single world class App, we did all these 1 lakh years ago, and today prefer to bootlick Americans
@BharatStrategy_@MeghUpdates Ah, all sanatanis talk of only Krishna and Bhagwad Gita, how many sanatanis you heard ever talk of Shiv Purana or about animal sacrifice or fire walk, or penance, or gifts to the poor
Unity doesn’t mean Uniformity.
Sanatan Dharma embraces diversity — not just one prophet, but countless Rishis, Avatars & Gurus across time and space.
Because Truth is not limited to one name, one book, or one era.
That’s not confusion — it’s cosmic inclusiveness.
#SanatanDharma#EternalWisdom
🚨 SHAMEFUL STATEMENT by Congress leader Udit Raj
— Praises Islam & Christianity for having ONE Prophet.
— Mocks Sanatan Dharma for having MANY.
Worse, he claims:
"Shivaji Maharaj had to bribe for his coronation — due to the caste system."
@Bhairaviyogi@MeghUpdates Oh, that's why you made Peshwahs(Brahmins) all powerful , retaining the future kings in a ceremonial role under control of Peshwa
@MeghUpdates Sanatan’s many deities show depth, not weakness
Shivaji didn’t bribe, he revived Hindu pride
Mocking Dharma to appease others is self-hate, not secularism
@MeghUpdates He was called Chhtrapati , a specially coined teem for Shivaji and not chakravarti, which is common, he was forced to feed and gift lakhs of Brahmins, the money for which had to come from forceful extraction of the poor
@DeepikaBhardwaj@adgpi Oh, corporate can do any exploitation and you still want to support them!!!
Why should an army officer attack, unless he is cornered. Scant respect fornthe Armed forces personnel is bad
I hope all retired Army officers will agitate & demand for strong action against this Army officer just the way they do if any of their officer is beaten up by anyone
This is horrendous behaviour @adgpi
@Janpratinidhi_@Warrior_Mukul@adgpi@DGCAIndia The army should take it as an organizational responsibility to bring the erring Spicejet staff to justice. And boycot the airline at least for one year
@Warrior_Mukul#BoycottSpiceJet
And those 2 in the white shirt who dared to raise their hand on the Army officer shud be taught a lesson....absolutely shameless buggers .
@adgpi take up the matter seriously with SP Srinagar Aiport, SpiceJet MD & @DGCAIndia .
Such rowdyism cannot be tolerated .
The incident at Srinagar Airport which is being glorified against the Army Officer & the Armed Forces, as well. Please see, the complete video which has surfaced now👇. It is evident that it was the Spicejet Staffers who hit the Army Officer first and kept on taking threatening postures to hit him again which infuriated the said Officer who then gave them back. For all those, who are blaming the Army Officer (as usual), this should serve as an eye opener. More details will follow.
@DeepakS30793901@sierraoperator@Warrior_Mukul What is the reason for Spicejet staff to tang up. Is it what is being taught by the airline. On top of that you act as though you give discount which is but a farce
@sierraoperator@Warrior_Mukul It's a shame that a serving LtCol has to endure this. Reflection of Govt apathy towards soldiers, and general indifference by civilians.
Entire Indian armed forces personnel and veterans should boycott Spicejet
@BrigInderSethi@Warrior_Mukul@adgpi Do not understand why Army persons still believe that civilians respect them and Govt supports them.A peon is also treated higher than army official. The sooner the faujis realise the better for them, do not expect Indians to treat you like the British trated their Indian Army .
@young_turk1988@timesofindia Where is the abuses of power. He was a passenger. And high handed spice jet staff refused any cabin baggage, any not even one
Misbehaviour with a Colonel in Uniform by the Principal of Swiss Cottage School Bijwasan : On one hand our Govt takes credit for "Op Sindoor" & talks about the valour of our Armed Forces but on the other hand there is this lady, Ms Neena Thimmaya, the Principal who tells the Colonel who was in his Uniform & was seeking admission for his special child that she would get him thrown out of the school through her private security guards. And, this lady is the wife of a serving Mechanised Infantry officer. Shame on her.....She doesn't deserve to be known as an Army Officer's wife. Probably, it is her husband and his Unit who is to be blamed for not grooming her properly. Why to blame anyone else when our "so called own" people like this lady misbehave with the Uniformed people?
@EduMinOfIndia@dpradhanbjp@Dir_Education@swisscottagedel@satbirsm
@RahulGandhi Any child who does adult crime like murder and rape should be treated as adult.
Max punishment including death for each an every student proved to be involved is but mandatory thing
Their parents too should be made responsible
The tragic loss of Mihir Ahammed to suicide due to bullying in a Kerala school is heartbreaking. My deepest condolences to his family.
No child should endure what Mihir faced. Schools must be safe havens for children yet he suffered relentless torment. Those responsible—both bullies and those who failed to act—must be held accountable.
Bullying isn’t harmless; it destroys lives. Parents must teach kindness, love, empathy, and the courage to speak up. Believe your child if they say they’re being bullied, and intervene if they are the bully.
@adgpi We should replace the Surrender painting with the historic and world famous Surgical Strike painting that shook the world and established India as the Superpower
