Another reannouncment of a failed program — rebranded. #cdnpoli So we’ll start in April 2017 Trudeau launches a program promising over $25 billion in loan financing to build 71K rental homes in 10 years. 7 years later. Over $18 Billion spent to build 🥁🥁🥁 …..11K homes built. Fast forward to ➡️ 2023. Another $15 Billion in loans committed. To “build” 30K more homes. Running total: $40 Billion. Fast forward to ➡️ today Trudeau’s Budget 2024 has ANOTHER $15 billion in loans. New Total: $55 billion dollars where less than half of the loans are being used and about 8.5% of their “building” goal is complete. It’s one thing to fail. It’s entirely another thing to fail expensively. $55 Billion dollars to create 11K “affordable” rental homes that aren’t actually even affordable according to their own budget officer. No wonder he’s doubled housing costs. The arsonist isn’t going to put out his fire. 🔥
