@lisyarus Every single modern system programming language does this. It makes your code copy-pastable between two different contexts (struct is value vs struct is a pointer) much more frictionless. Not autodereferencing struct pointers on field access is a fundamental design flaw of C/C++.

Tip for C devs: Whenever you call malloc(), add a Jira ticket for calling free(). That way you will never leak memory.
