Even though the Holy Mass for Dr. @kizzabesigye1 and other political prisoners was abruptly halted at Rubaga Cathedral today—the Lord still hears the prayers rising from our hearts. These heartfelt supplications for our dear leader, who has now spent over 400 days in Luzira Prison without trial, in declining health and denied urgent medical care, remain undeterred. They live on in the quiet of our souls, within our homes, workplaces, streets, and wherever faithful Ugandans stand in solidarity. This disruption is a painful sign that even the sacred right to worship, to gather in prayer, and to seek divine justice is under threat in Uganda. What was meant to be a peaceful, interdenominational act of compassion has exposed the fragility of religious freedom and communal expression. In a nation where faith has long offered hope amid hardship, such interference marks a troubling escalation in the suppression of non-confrontational solidarity. Yet no earthly power can silence the cries of the heart directed to God.
