Today, during Women’s Week, we honour two trailblazers: Princess Elizabeth Bagaya, Uganda’s first female lawyer, and Rt. Hon. Dr. Rebecca Kadaga, the first woman to open her own law chambers. Their courage reshaped Uganda’s legal landscape.

You won the case. Congratulations!🎊 . But here’s the real question… can you actually get paid? 🤔A judgment is not magic. It doesn’t move money by itself.
You must enforce it. The law gives you tools but you must use them. Today’s legal tip: Enforcing a Judgement.

Confessions v Admissions A Confession is the express admission of guilt itself. An Admission is an acknowledgment of a fact from which guilt may be inferred. The Supreme Court in Abolfadhi summarized the distinction between the two into 6 succinct points.

During our recent team-bonding exercise, I looked at my colleague’s fingers and realized they were clubbing. Immediately my mind started racing like: - Does this guy have enough oxygen right now? - Should I tell him his lungs, heart or liver might be in jeopardy? Anyways, I ignored the dramatic thoughts and simply asked if he’s noticed the shape of his fingers. What he said next cleared the air completely… If your fingers look like this, you might want to read this thread 👇🏻

📌Safety Is Not a Luxury: Uganda Must Fund GBV Shelters! In today’s 9th December 2025 edition of the New Vision (@newvisionwire), Ms. Rita H. Aciro-Lakor, the Executive Director of the Uganda Women’s Network (UWONET), highlights the indispensable role of GBV shelters in safeguarding survivors of Gender Based Violence (GBV). She stresses that discontinuing their operations due to a lack of prioritization in funding would leave women and girls with no safe spaces to seek protection, emergency care, or psychosocial support. Ms. Aciro calls upon the Government of Uganda @GovUganda to ensure continued functionality of these shelters through adequate and sustained budget allocations, noting that they are a critical component of the national response to Violence Against Women and Girls. For the full details, be sure to grab today’s copy of The New Vision. epapers.visiongroup.co.ug

Today we join the world in commemorating the International Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls as well as launching the 16 Days of Activism against GBV in Uganda. We call for bold political will, increased investment in women’s rights organisations, stronger enforcement of laws and community-led approaches that reflect local realities. This is the moment to demand systems that protect, not fail, women and girls. Let’s make these 16 Days a turning point toward a safer, more equitable Uganda. #16DaysOfActivism #6NationalWomensWeek #DigitalEquality #Beijing30
