@Armed_Alberta @Sharyl13 @furmsies If you don’t want to play the pronoun game then isn’t the best thing to do to complete the form and let them know you are a straight biological male that identifies as the male gender? Otherwise your kind may be underrepresented in the data.
English

@oldsoulktp77 @Armed_Alberta @furmsies Some people got a long form census. I got one of the longer ones. It did indeed have some “personal” questions but I don’t think that is overly unusual. Census data is important for a lot of reasons, like tracking changes in the population characteristics over time.

@dervishgirl1 @lilwaynekennedy It’s reasonable for anyone to choose to wear a mask to help prevent catching any virus they like.
English

@lilwaynekennedy Is it reasonable to wear an N95 in a plane and hotel to prevent this? I am not very familiar with the
risk level of this virus 🤔

@ROETrading @david_parker Marginal tax rate is 50%. Effective or overall is closer to 35%.
English

@RachelC83409253 @end3of6days9 Then they need to adjust their hours and close at 3:45.
English

@end3of6days9 We have to spin your blood and that takes a full 15 mins. There wasn't enough time to process your blood work before being sent to the lab for further testing. The employee has a right to refuse them.

💉 A high-risk pregnant woman shows up with her mom at LabCorp in Odessa, Texas, at 3:50 PM — just 10 minutes before they close at 4:00.
The employee refuses to do her blood draw and tells them it was “rude” to come so close to closing, comparing it to walking into a restaurant right before they lock the doors.
Her doctor told her to get there before 4:00, which they did, but they still refuse to do the bloodwork. The employee says they’re being belligerent and asks them to leave, then tells them that if they don’t leave she’ll call the police for trespassing.
Do you think they should have made an exception to their rule for this mom? Especially since she’s a high-risk pregnancy and it sounds like she’s being induced in a few days.
I absolutely would have worked later to make sure this mom-to-be got the bloodwork she needed. She’s in enough stress as it is.

@bigbadcad @HarmanBhanguBC The lack of lines is so dangerous, combined with the type of paving we do just turns our roads into reflective glass sheets on rainy nights. I remember crossing the border into Washington state and it’s night and day how easy it is to see on their highways.
English

@HarmanBhanguBC I’d like to point out that even in the city the lines are completely invisible on a rainy night. Growing up there used to be reflective properties of the paint that would stand out with headlights. What happend to that? Are paint suppliers using a worse product ?

This video is from back in March while touring through the Interior.
At nearly every stop, I heard from British Columbians about the lack of visible lane markings on major highways.
Then I saw it firsthand.
Harsh weather is a fact of life.
But not having proper lane markings so drivers can actually see where they’re going is absolutely unacceptable.
Truckers and commuters shouldn’t be guessing where their lane is while driving through slush and poor visibility.
Farnworth needs to get out here and actually see the kinds of road conditions he’s saying are okay for British Columbians to drive on.

@marxseventh @FishingGuy907 @cassidenaep Exactly. They did not crew up and plan this recovery mission assuming everything would go perfectly like it did. It is planned for every possible thing that could go wrong.
English

@FishingGuy907 @cassidenaep None of you are thinking about the weather and possible rough seas.
English

@Gargen123 @HateandBourbon @MissiforMO That is also based on ten year old data. The amount of computing power required by AI is astronomical compared to what was going on then.
English

@HateandBourbon @MissiforMO Maybe try looking into things and forming your own opinion. It’s almost like data centers use such a minuscule amount of water, that it’s stupid even complaining about it.

@LawnmowerAmeri1 @Bulvarpress You should go visit the pretty coloured natural hot tubs in Yellowstone national park! They say not to go into them, to stay on the boardwalks. But rules are for suckers, right?
English

@Bulvarpress If I'm paying tourist prices to patron your tourist trap destination, you better believe I'm not wading in the ankle deep surf. Ya boi is going to at least the neck deep water to chill.

@C163680621902 @realVespasian Snows? Barely snows in downtown Vancouver. These squat-looking palms are in a lot of places in Vancouver and on Vancouver island. Been here for decades, kind of used to them now. This particular private rooftop garden has been around for over ten years.
English

@realVespasian Haha fair. Nowhere in Canada comes close to being able to grow them except Vancouver area, but even there it’s a bit of a stretch. Must look so weird when it snows lol.
English

@Birdcrablover @drjenwolkin Mine wants me to try a particular ssri first as well. Went on and on about risks of hrt without acknowledging any potential benefits. Wasn’t impressed.
English

@drjenwolkin I went to my doctor for help and maybe try HRT and she said no "they" won't let her, but she could prescribe SSRIs. I'm assuming "they" is insurance companies. I said no, I'll just deal with it.

Peri/menopause isn’t a “new trend.” It’s what happens when an ENTIRE generation of women hits a life transition we were never properly studied for, educated about, or prepared for. GenX and Xennials weren’t “caught off guard” because we’re dramatic…we were kept in the dark. I see you. XO, Dr. Jen

@jamiemcln This kind of realization is what made me deadset against my idea there is man-made climate change affecting the planet.

someone explain to me why we can’t see any form of human existence from space? like surely there’s areas in earth that we’ve covered in concrete that are large enough to see from space

The ultimate view. Spying the boot of Italy and the stunning Mediterranean coastline from low Earth orbit.

@realpeteyb123 I always stagger my feet as well, like this guy was. Probably saved him from losing his balance when pushed.
