Apple stole a decade of progress in this direction from humanity by introducing native apps, creating a lot of pseudo-jobs for businesses to hire: Android/iOS devs, Android/iOS QAs, Android/iOS designers, Android/iOS project/product managers, the list goes on. So much talent has been invested into creating duplicated things. I started my career with Swift, I used to follow that cult and even promoted it myself by advocating for fancy bouncy 120FPS animations and hating on long start-up times of desktop webapps. Today I pull my hair every time I see how much it costs to implement an average app for online clothing store. I’m also rooting big time for Slack and Figma for bringing crazy good web experiences. 99% of apps do not deserve to be native, apart from few 3d/video editors and maybe games. I think it is highly ethical to contribute at least a little bit to WebGPU/WASM/WebXR future, we really have to stop that non-sense and let businesses reach audience directly, write code once, skip platforms’ gatekeeping and keep 100% of revenue to themselves.

@SheriefFYI @FPRobber ... so like 30 seconds to a minute? The only game in recent memory that takes a decent amount of time to compile is Call of Duty and well... it's CoD It's literally 10 minutes for me to download and play Elden Ring vs 45+ to run to the store and buy it
