sorry but to be precise polling rate is how often your PC polls for updates, report rate is how often your mouse responds to the polls with data, and sensor FPS is how often the sensor takes a picture of the surface for the dsp/mcu to do its calculations to reconstruct motion. a very high fixed framerate could cause loss of accuracy for slow motion (e.g. micro correcting) because of oversampling, but it will retain more accurate motion data on faster movements. Basically the polling rate/reporting rate have nothing to do with the sensor framerate

If your mouse has a TURBO MODE / 20k FPS mode,
TURN IT ON!!!!!
It does not cause ANY problems whatsoever to your pc like polling rate does. But makes your aim CRACKEDDD.
Scan rate and polling rate are two very different things.
Scan rate is how often your sensor is picking up adjustments. (20,000 times a second vs default 8,000)
Polling rate is how often your mouse is sending those adjustments to your pc.
You can have both 8k polling rate and 20k scan rate at the same time, they do not cancel each other out but benefit each other.
Personally I run both 8k polling and 20k fps mode on every mouse with good high polling stability. It’s incredible how responsive the sensor feels, especially at higher DPI.
TLDR: Scan rate is accuracy, polling rate is how often data is being sent to pc. (No impact to performance, only benefits.)
