Poland 🇵🇱 is quietly living in 2030 with cashierless shops 💳 scan your card 🚶door opens, 🥤grab what you want 👍 walk out i don’t understand why this is not a standard everywhere in the world. this is so OP, like a vending machine but size of a shop.

Doppelklick.

@neogoose_btw It is apple bs. The author of ghossty wrote it somewhere, all the apps run in the terminal belong to the terminal instead of the individual processes. So in the end this person runs processes which takes a lot of RAM.

@EdgingtonC @BHolmesDev @biomejs On which version? I had something like that too, but it eventually vanished with an upgrade. 2.1.2 improved it a lot, but still had a leak. Not sure on which version I am now

@firtoz @dannypostma @levelsio Nope, do your research. Its full of false assumptions. What if I do a llm request with my computer, it will be even worser. But I stop this discussion now.

@wtfjoke @dannypostma @levelsio In the end the total energy consumption is what matters more, doesn't it? Both client and server? And the total is less with LLMs in the end.

@firtoz @dannypostma @levelsio Because you compare client side energy consumption with server side energy consumption. Thats the strawman

@wtfjoke @dannypostma @levelsio Why is that a strawman? If you have to visit and read through 2 google pages clicking a few pages here and there instead of 1 llm request, you have wasted so much more.

@__steele Have you tried github.com/getsops/sops ? It is super ergonomic to use to keep secrets in source control. And it has a terraform module that makes those available so you can quickly bootstrap secret manager.

I would use AWS Secrets Manager so much more if there was an easy way to bootstrap secrets into it. E.g. I wish the service published a well-known public key and I could upload a secret encrypted using that key. Then I could store the ciphertext in my IaC under source control.

I did a writeup of Zod's subpath-based approach to versioning (link below) Feedback from ecosystem maintainers has been overwhelmingly positive & i'm feeling incredibly good about it. strongly encourage other libraries with strict backwards compatibility constraints to consider a similar pattern

Why we built a new Kafka client for Node.js The Node.js world needs better tools. Apache Kafka is vital for real-time data. It powers many businesses, especially in Fintech and Media. These fields see heavy data usage and need reliable solutions.
