@JeffNeelzAgain @CoreyWriting Ah yes, cuz curb stomping each other is definitely the response to feeling an “invasion”. It’s lack of proper parenting and blatant disrespect for members of your community. Period.

@CoreyWriting True but I bet these “teens” know this. They probably view this development as “gentrification” or “invasion” or “an attempt to push the black community out of DC”. To be fair to them, it would be. Not intentionally as such, but as a consequence if it succeeds.

@CoreyWriting Lived here 3 years and have already seen places starting to close. Chicken & whiskey, lululemon, all purpose, bww, etc. Places that border the park where the juvenile weekend fight clubs have gotta take a hit on the weekends due to the chaos.

@xSERP3NT @nbcwashington I beleive Americans tolerate way too much disorder in our cities, and I beleive in broken windows. But gathering or hanging out is not a crime (“soft on crime”) and also living in one of densest most social parts of city and expecting it to be like silent like Potomac at night?

@lifeofambes @salukibuckaroo @ElissaDeSouza There’s plenty of movie theaters around. There’s a mall in pentagon city (they all come out the metro anyway, just ride it to pentagon city). It’s not lack of activities to do. It’s a mixture of poor / lack of parenting and a culture of wanting to cause chaos.

@salukibuckaroo @ElissaDeSouza It’s unfortunate. They didn’t where I live in Maryland. And teens are able to go to the movies with friends and hang out constructively.

What should’ve been a great night out in Navy Yard turned into something we’re seeing far too often. Sitting at dinner at Takumi (one of the newest additions to the neighborhood) this was the view: chaos spilling into the streets, fights breaking out, and large groups of teens running through the area after yet another reckless event at the Bullpen. This isn’t a one-off—it’s a repeat pattern, and it’s happening later and later into the night. Residents and visitors should be able to enjoy a beautiful day, support new businesses, and have a peaceful meal without worrying about safety or disruption. At some point, we have to ask: how many times does this need to happen before real accountability and prevention measures are put in place? #NavyYard #Teentakeover #DC

@lifeofambes @ElissaDeSouza Do you live in the navy yard? If so you’ll see how they can cause a disruption. My friend got punched in the head last year by a juvenile on a scooter. 4th of July Roman candles were fired into apartments. “There’s nothing to do” is such a cop out.

@ElissaDeSouza I’m confused how a bunch of kids can cause a disruption?? Kids can’t have fun these days. Maybe create an environment for teens to go hang out instead of complaining. There’s no malls or anything in DC. WTH are they supposed to do? We did this all the time at malls growing up.

@ElissaDeSouza The restaurant and bars have to be seeing lower revenue and fewer guests during what I expect is a time of year they look forward and rely on (baseball season). The city has to take meaningful action against this behavior.

Alex Cora says that Roman Anthony isn’t in the lineup because they have to “maximize the roster” and also Yoshida is putting good at bats plus Duran has to get some playing time. This is the type of OF/DH rotation that they will have during the season.

@GovernorVA Can you explain to me how inheriting a budget surplus and subsequently taxing dog walkers, car repairs, home repairs, door dashers, and leaf blowers “gets things done for Virginians”?

@BallParkBuzz You say this as if the Red Sox have been operating the same way since 2020 that they did from 04-19. They haven’t.

I had this thought last night that I am going to get crushed for but I think it’s the reality of the situation. A lot of Red Sox fans want heads to roll, especially Craig Breslow. My question to all of those people is if Craig Breslow was choice #11 a few years ago, how much further down the list will the Red Sox have to go this time? Everybody will know that the Red Sox have gone through their top executives every 3-4 years since 2011. And they have a fan base who is yelling sell the team 9 and 10 games into the season after a season with 89 wins and a playoff appearance. I have a feeling that if you are one of those people calling for action, you won’t like the replacement options. I’m not saying I won’t be on the side calling for a move in the future, but you have to let the season play out past 10 games.

Ownership has signed off on three nine-figure deals in the last calendar year. They gave the FO the green light to spend money and trade future assets this winter. Highest payroll in team history, 6th highest CBT number in baseball. Blame em for Mookie, full throttle, everything ‘20-‘24. It was awful. But going from last year’s product to this year’s is on others before it’s on ownership.

“Oh, sell the team.” He heard you. He won’t sell the team, though. The Red Sox are no longer run like a baseball team. They haven’t for a while. They are run like a business, and it’s a business that makes a lot of money regardless of how bad they are.

@RedSoxSlave @jonvankin @_TyAnderson And then we have offseasons like this past one where anyone who watched 10 games last year knew this team needed pop and power. They didn’t and they went all in on pitching and D. (“Run prevention optimization). Yet their pitching sucks (outside of 35) and the D is 2nd worst.

@jonvankin @_TyAnderson It's their unwillingness to exceed tax thresholds, even during seasons where the team is expected to be competitive, that has forced the front office to move on from players like Betts and Devers and fail to sign big fish free agents to long term deals. They're astoundingly cheap

@RedSoxSlave @jonvankin @_TyAnderson Exactly. Consistently in the top 10 in Scrooge index. Consistently in the top 2 of most expensive cost to see/eat at a game. Yet we have started to see homegrown stars walk or get traded for a McChicken cuz they no longer want to pay up.

@jonvankin @_TyAnderson This is the narrative ownership loves that fans will buy into. It's disingenuous. Despite the 6th highest payroll, the organization has one of the lowest percentages of revenue reinvested to payroll in all of baseball

@jonvankin @_TyAnderson And yet when they actually cared about winning they were always top 3. They would have never traded Ortiz or Pedroia when it was time to pay them. If Mookie played in the 00’s they wouldn’t have traded him. They used to care about winning by any means necessary.

@Jankersville @JakeIggy We have seen Henry and co tell us how getting below the tax was so critical that mookie and co had to walk. Just for them to buy the penguins and pour billions into Liverpool. If they don’t want to compete for a WS they should sell to someone who wants to.

@Jankersville @JakeIggy We have not seen the commitment or desire to win from ownership that we have previously seen from 04-19. All while they keep raising ticket prices and concessions. We’ve seen mookie go from first ballot HOF with a sox cap to the dodgers for a bag of peanuts. We deserve better
