We have published Cypherpunk Retreat case study! done by @web3privacy and @protocollabs With growing regulatory pressures, centralised control over communication and financial systems, and the rapid evolution of AI and surveillance technologies, we are at a crossroads. The coming years represent one of our last windows to build and use secure and privacy-preserving technologies before the current paradigm solidifies for a decade or more. The challenge is clear: secure global communications cannot depend on incremental adoption by existing systems. We need a fundamental shift in internet infrastructure, developed and deployed by builders who prioritize privacy and censorship resistance at the protocol level. So in collaboration with @protocollabs we decided to put together a retreat for those, who wants to put their skills to use. Many new tools had dropped or been announced, helping to enhance privacy and make it better and more accessible for eveyone. But also some things changed for worse, so it is good to keep that on our radar. @DarkFiSquad launched their DarkIRC app and @Brave enabled cryptographically verifiable privacy and transparency using TEEs. X platform started show where its users made their accounts from and want to address the VPN usage as well in near future, @GrapheneOS faces another allegations by French media for enabling privacy to criminals and @EFF sues Department of Justice for forcing tech platforms to takedown apps helping to document activities of ICE.
