It doesn’t stop with a ban on sales. The end goal is a ban on possession.

In response to the DOJ’s letter, a spokesperson for @AGJayJones sent me the following statement. “This threat is a distortion of the very purpose of the Office of Civil Rights, abandoning the protection of the disenfranchised in favor of keeping weapons of mass murder on the streets. The Attorney General will take all necessary legal action to defend the Commonwealth’s laws and constitutional authority.”

I can't wrap my head around the fact that we can do laps around the moon, I can now have a full coherent conversation with AI, we can split an atom, etc., but at the same time as all those marvels, we can't cure cancer and other illnesses.
Seems like that other stuff is way harder, but I guess not.

I know I rarely say nice things about Dems, but Swalwell is actually just not very intelligent. I despise Newsom, but I don't think he's dumb.
And it looks like Swalwell's party agrees. He's had lots of sordid stuff around him but none of it mattered until he started leading the polls for CA Governor (among the Dems anyway). They don't want him running CA.

@703Kyle @HarmeetKDhillon @CivilRights is suing DC as well with precedent too. Scotus has taken a different look to 2a cases if US DOJ is on the case or supports it so we'll see maybe SCOTUS wants a doj case as the hardware case and might have seen this coming with an emergency appeal

This is important because, in the unfortunate scenario where SCOTUS denies cert on another round of hardware cases and we still need a hardware precedent, this case would have a much better shot at a cert grant because it's the US DOJ that would be asking for it.
Also, it can move quickly. The Fourth Circuit's terrible ruling upholding AWBs will be controlling, so Harmeet & Co. can ask for quick losses under existing precedent so they can march it up to SCOTUS.
