It’s (very) early days, but so Brennan Johnson has made an encouraging start to his Palace career. In short: • He's excelling at the things Spurs fans said he’d be good at (running in behind, receiving the ball in dangerous areas, shooting from good locations, defending from the front) • He’s not doing the things he’s not good at (incisive passes, dribbling past players). £30m+ sounds like a lot of money for a player with some obvious limitations but he fits the profile Glasner loves for a number 10 and if he continues in the vein that he’s started, there’s plenty to be excited about. Why are all the major pundits ignoring the fouls on Soucek and Pablo himself (and probably Todibo too) *before* the Pablo foul on Raya? That’s the issue, not whether or not Pablo commits a foul (he does).

@palarsebald The Glasner system relies on 10s who are quick, run in behind and work hard in the press. I’m not sure Maradona, for all his flair, offers that. Pele would be a good fit because he can play in the 9 or the 10.
