@staticnz @InvincibleWheel @TfL Thanks for getting in touch. Woodside Park to Waterloo. Came up with Northern Line to Euston, Victoria Line to Oxford Circus then Bakerloo to Waterloo. Was expecting Jubilee line to Southwark as lift out at Waterloo

Right, so since they decided to send me a DM about this rather than reply publicly: TFL have said there is no known timeframe for the lift to the tube at Waterloo being fixed.
InvincibleWomanOnWheels@InvincibleWheel

Hey @TfL @TfLAccess any time for fixing the lift at Waterloo (and thus restoring step free access to the tube? I know it’s been out for weeks and I have an event in March I’m trying to plan for so need to know if I’ll be able to use the station as planned

@OneOffDave1 I knew I was right but a guy came specifically to HARD WIRE a co2 monitor & was here less than 5 min & l just moved the portable one stuck inside boiler cabinet & stuck it up really high on a wall where I can’t reach to text it with an adhesive pad. Told me it WAS hard wired. 🫠

If an alarm needs to be ‘hard wired’ that means actually wired in to the electrics, doesn’t it? As in not an alarm stuck to the wall with sticky pads. Cos a new 🚨 was ‘hard wired’ here this morning and actually it is the existing one but it’s been moved &stuck to the wall 🤨

Having moved house, I've had to be referred to the local diabetes service by my GP as a brand new patient. They've given me an appointment in mid-November! I don't even know which type I've got as they can't decide if it's type 2 or 3c

@InvincibleWheel @TfL Theoretically between Oxford Circus and Harrow and Wealdstone. It's transfer only at Oxford Circus but I've never tried it

@InvincibleWheel Just looked at the @TfL Go App for a step-free route to Waterloo and it suggested the Bakerloo line! If you didn't know London, you'd be stuck

They’ve also apologised for the “inconvenience caused”. Having no step free tube access to one of the biggest stations in London (both a train station and a tube station) for an endless amount of time is SIGNIFICANTLY more than an “inconvenience “ but ok then

@Emma_Lee1 @nimbusdis @ICOnews I'm not seeing anything about them being registered for special category data though which they need to be if holding any health related information

I do wonder if @nimbusdis are appropriately registered with the @ICOnews for holding special category data.

Been told I need bloodtests that I should have had this time last year as inpatient. Apparently results take 10-12 weeks to get back to the GP! Lab page says they have a 2 week turn round! Where are the other 8-10 weeks coming from? It's an NHS lab. Other NHS labs even faster.

Another night ruined by my CGM erroneously reporting low blood sugar. Readings are 3-4 lower than finger prick measures. This is the third sensor in a row that's doing that.

@LucyGoBag I'm reminded of that footage of the fire in a branch of Threshers where people ignore the fire for quite some time. Seems to be a common human trait

They're killing us before the assisted dying bill comes in. It'll be even worse after.

A disabled man died after waiting over 34 hours for antibiotics at Bassetlaw Hospital his death was found to have been preventable independent.co.uk/news/health/se… The man, who lived in supported accommodation in Ollerton, Nottinghamshire, suffered from a rare incurable disorder called #Alexanderdisease, affecting the nervous system and causing developmental delays. He also had communication needs and his mum stated - I knew my son better than anyone and I was trying to help the doctors by telling them the oral antibiotic wouldn’t work and that the GP had a microbiologist’s report that said he wouldn’t respond to that drug. But they just totally dismissed me. “Their attitude was they were the doctors and I was just his mum. The @PHSOmbudsman investigation found he was given the correct IV medication more than a day after he arrived at hospital, and at half the dosage it should have been. By the time a second dose was given, which was also delayed, the man had become septic and he died a week later. The report found his disabilities meant he had difficulties communicating with staff and raising the lack of treatment…. Where was the LD nurse in all this? Had staff at this hospital completed the mandatory Oliver McGowan training @PaulaMc007 ? And when will staff take parent carers of disabled particularly mothers seriously? How many more disabled have to die ? #NHS #Disabilities #carers #misogyny @martinimarie @redpepper1011 @SarahSpoorUK @keepnhshonest @KenZeroHarm @sendagenda @sheilaoliver16 @wesstreeting

@benn_elisbenn @OneOffDave1 @blue_nose_amy If that's what I think it is, it's a nylon coating designed to stop the bolt coming loose due to vibration. The theory is that it puts a little pressure on one side of the bolt to push it against the other side of the hole its in, creating friction to resist unscrewing.

My brother's just spent the last 10 minutes trying to find the pin that keeps my front castor on my chair, which had fallen off on Fulham Broadway. Fortunately he found it. Now to find somewhere to be backwheel pushed to, to transfer out my chair and get the pin back in 😩

@OrMakeOne @blue_nose_amy Yes, that's how they come. It's annoying that there's no torque specs for them in the manual that comes with the chair. My prosthetics have the specs engraved on them. The casters need regular disassembly to remove the hair they collect from the environment.

@blue_nose_amy @OneOffDave1 There's every chance the new castors would have the same design flaw, sadly. My best guess is they are probably factory assembled with a retaining compound like Loctite, but that will only work until the first time they need to be taken apart.

@blue_nose_amy @OneOffDave1 It certainly contributes, but wheelchairs should be designed for use in typical real-world environments. Even flat surfaces will generate some noise vibration and harshness. The way a lot of well understood vehicle design principles are ignored for wheelchairs infuriates me.

@OneOffDave1 @OrMakeOne Have ordered that part from RGK. Will look into getting the Loctite as well. Hopefully that will help matters. Thanks for the advice, really appreciated👍🏻

@blue_nose_amy @OrMakeOne Yes, that's the same as mine. Does need loctite or similar to stop the bolts loosening over time. Blue rather than red or it'll never come undone
