Its popularity today rests on family traditions—passing down “Take me out to the ballgame” from father to son (and daughter). While there are plenty of LGBTQ+ fans, the overwhelming majority of American baseball fans are straight middle class working families. I’m generalizing I know, but generally speaking straight middle class working families are ok with LGBTQ+, they just don’t want it shoved down their throats by force. MLB is like the UK and Bud Light. It is committing cultural suicide. Such a shame.
