@zellieimani 1. We don't live in an anti black country. 2. I also noticed how neither one of the situations you mentioned here were black on black. Which is where most of us are actually murdered. I guess it's only good for the narrative if other races are involved.

@TimReeves_ @_Not_JamesBond_ By your logic, every denomination with a different understanding of Jesus is worshipping a different Jesus. At that point, “different Jesus” becomes a substitute for addressing the actual doctrines being debated.

Thanks for the comment FL. I think you’re touching on a good point here. There is only one Jesus and we (protestants) don’t believe your (Mormon) Jesus is it. When you say “He died for each of us” the “He” has a different meaning then when I say “He died for each of us.” We’re talking about 2 different “He’s” and we can’t both be right.

I’ve never… read the Book of Mormon. been to a Mormon church. read a book about Mormonism. But… I occasionally house sit for my Mormon neighbors. Their living room wall has 3 statements of faith. None align with the statements of faith my Christian Church holds.

@TimReeves_ @_Not_JamesBond_ That’s an interesting claim but we worship the same Jesus Christ described in the Bible, the Son of God,born of Mary, crucified, resurrected &Savior of mankind. The real disagreement isn’t over which Jesus died for us. It’s over what He revealed about Himself His Father&His gospel.

@RevRayCistman What an asinine statement, especially coming from a reverend🤦‍♂️ You want him acquitted solely bc he’s black,w/no regard for the evidence or whether he’s guilty. All it does is push the false narrative that he’s guilty bc of his skin color, which only fuels more division &animosity.

Now do magic underpants. But you’re not tracking the conversation. The question isn’t “which beliefs are right.” Those questions were settled at Nicaea and Chalcedon. Athanasius didn’t defeat Arius in 318AD so we could debate it every time a polytheistic fertility space-cult presses the issue again. The question is which beliefs are those affiliated with the religion known as “Christianity.” Christianity is a 2k year-old religion rooted in a 4k year-old Scriptural corpus. Its doctrines aren’t in the realm of subjective argument. It’s been defined objectively for much longer than the Roman Empire has been dead. Its borders have been demarcated in cement longer than Islam or Rabbinic Judaism have existed. You’re asking an LLM to give you an answer from scouring the web for a consensus answer, using “explicitly” as an obvious poison pill knowing full-well a great many foundational doctrines are logically inferred. Some doctrines are so obvious, they don’t need to be spelled out didactically. And that same LLM will tell you Joseph Smith was a pedophile adulterer charlatan who had more false prophesies than a three armed man could shake a stick at. It’s not that Mormonism differs from Christianity on a single doctrine and you’re in the same category as Arius. Arius is condemned a heretic as authoritatively as any heretic could be, but he was infinitely closer to being a Christian than a Mormon, because Mormons do not have a *single* doctrine shared in common with Christians. Not one. Joseph Smith would not have received the courtesy of a Church Council, calling in bishops from around the world to settle a doctrinal disagreement by consensus. They’d have just burned him at the stake from jump. You deny monotheism. You deny the omnipresence, omnipotence, and omniscience of God. You deny the eternality of God. You deny the immutability of God. You deny the simplicity of God. You deny the Trinity. You deny the homoousios. You deny that God has always been God. You deny that God is spirit. You deny that God is incorporeal. You deny that God is without body, parts, or passions. You deny the eternal generation of the Son. You deny the eternal procession of the Spirit. You deny the canon of Scripture. You deny the sufficiency of Scripture. You deny original sin. You deny that man is by nature dead in trespasses and sins. You deny that salvation is by faith alone. You deny that justification is forensic. You deny penal substitutionary atonement. You deny that Christ’s righteousness is imputed to the believer. You deny that grace is unmerited. You deny eternal hell as conscious eternal punishment. You deny that men are creatures and God alone is Creator. You deny the creator-creature distinction entirely. You deny that humans were created ex nihilo. You deny that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God . You deny that temple worship was abolished at the cross. You deny that there is one mediator between God and man. You deny that salvation requires no secret passwords, handshakes, or ritual garments. You could, theoretically, have Grok suggest that historic Christian beliefs are unbiblical, with the right turn of phrase and careful prompting. But what you cannot do is have Grok tell you that Mormon beliefs are Christian. That’s the debate at the moment. We already had the one on the Trinity in 318AD and settled it. But no level of absurdity could ever have a robot brain claim that your canon of doctrines are remotely classified as “Christian.”

Despite being polytheistic fertility-cultists whose galactic headquarters is near Planet Kolob and their messianic Promised Land just an hour north of Kansas City, Mormons get the good press of being a notoriously polite, kind, and neighborly people with a low-crime, mutually respectful community with deep American values. That could be the fruit of their religion. Or… It could be the natural result of what happens in a homogenous, high-trust community which banned black people from full admission until the Carter Administration. But we’re not allowed to talk about that.

Sen. Mike Lee is doing cartwheels of excitement that, with enough political pressure, he got Trump to remove the category "Christian" so as not to offend Mormonism on the Pentagon religion list. This wasn't Trump sticking up for Mormons so much as it was Trump offending Christianity, but this is the POTUS who drops F-bombs while praising Allah on Easter morning, so that tracks. But what you might not know is the extent to which Mormon theology drives Lee's foreign policy, especially in his obsessive and slavish devotion to Israel. Did you know Mike Lee believes he's related to the ancient Israelites? True story. Mormons believe they are literal descendants of the tribe of Ephraim or Manasseh. Not spiritually. Not metaphorically. Literally. Through a ceremony called a "patriarchal blessing," a church official declares your *physical* tribal lineage, rewriting your genetic ancestry to ancient Israel on the spot. The Encyclopedia of Mormonism states that "the patriarchal blessings of Latter-day Saints indicate that they are literal, blood descendants of Abraham and of Israel" (Encyclopedia of Mormonism, ed. Daniel H. Ludlow (New York: Macmillan, 1992), vol. 2, p. 461, "Ephraim."). So when Lee votes to give even more billions to Israel in the Senate, he's not advocating for a foreign nation in his own mind. He's advocating for his own people. His blood relatives. His own home country. In his framework, American Christians supporting Israel are gentile sympathizers. Mike Lee is a relative rooting for his home team. But it gets worse. In 1841 - fifty years before Theodor Herzl invented political Zionism - Joseph Smith sent an apostle to climb the Mount of Olives and formally dedicate Palestine for Jewish restoration and an independent Jewish state. Benjamin Netanyahu later wrote about it in his own book. Mormon pro-Israel politics isn't borrowed from evangelical dispensationalism. Mormons invented American Zionism. Lee believes that before Jesus returns to Jerusalem in the End Times, he'll land first at Daviess County in Missouri and be given the "priesthood keys" by the Mormons before then heading on to Israel (Doctrine and Covenants, Section 116, as explained by "Mormon Doctrine," 2nd ed. Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1966, p. 21). So before Jesus comes back to the Mount of Olives, he'll make a Mormon pit-stop to get permission right quick. This is who POTUS just appeased by scuttling "Christian" as a category. The United States does not need, nor should it want, space cultists in a bizarre, 19th-century polygamist End Times sect to serve in political office, bringing their Zionist religious fetish into our political system. If you have a problem with Muslims serving, you should have a problem with this. As demonic a religion as Islam is, it is infinitely closer to Christianity than Mormonism. It's at least monotheistic and doesn't teach Jesus and Satan as brothers, and God is married to a space goddess. The Federal Government would not let Utah into the Union until it banned polygamy. The Edmunds-Tucker Act of 1887 authorized the Feds to confiscate their property for being polygamous perverts (Edmunds-Tucker Act is 24 Stat. 635, 1887), at which point, the Mormon "church" immediately got a vision from God to end the practice. But in 2020, the State of Utah went back and reduced polygamy from a felony to a citation with the same penalty as a traffic ticket, to allow them to get around the 1887 law. President Trump found a workaround, which was to de-list "Christian" altogether. This is the corrupting influence of Mormonism in a nation designed in its DNA to be Christian. Congrats, Mike Lee.
Mike Lee@BasedMikeLee

Thank you, President Trump, for standing up for Latter-day Saints. When we asked for your help, you responded by doing the exact opposite of what Martin Van Buren did when we asked for his help in 1839. And we are most grateful for that.

The Karmelo Anthony verdict shows that the justice system has reverted back to the Jim Crow South era. It is no longer about evidence. It is no longer about right or wrong. It is about keeping racial score through the prosecution and imprisonment of Black people. It was no surprise that an all white jury would find a 19 year old kid, who was bullied and harassed by two 6’1” bullies, guilty of murder while he was minding his business. We have seen this story before. A young Black man is put on trial, and somehow the burden shifts from what happened to him, to why he should not have defended himself. The facts become secondary. The optics become everything. The outcome feels predetermined long before the verdict is read. People will tell you not to make it about race. But race has always been part of the story in America. The hard truth is that many Black people no longer believe they will receive the benefit of the doubt when their freedom is on the line. And verdicts like this are exactly why. At some point, we have to stop pretending that everyone is playing by the same set of rules. Because the people watching this case saw something very different than what that jury claimed to see.

Because we need new prophets/apostles foooor what exactly? What did Christ and his apostles leave undone that we need your pedo prophet and money mongering, ever-changing-doctrine fraudsters who have never worked a miracle or had a fulfilled prophecy (but failed trying many times) and thus never verified their apostolic status for now?
Beach Blanket Bingo@UtahBrad

@rileyadamvoth @readthebooks22 @catcolalex I am not sure what you are talking about. Christ is my savior and redeemer and the Apostles left great teachings but also were killed off taking the authority to act in the name of God with them. Through modern prophets that authority has been restored. That is the good news.
