Men will literally trade in their cars to get MagSafe (only half ironic)

@Michael_L_Rauch @LucidMotors If it makes you feel better Polestar still hasn’t figured it out on their newer centralized compute cars 🙃
English

Second time today having to back into Superchargers with no backup camera. Will likely clear with soft reboot, but this is getting old @LucidMotors as bumped into this one. Earlier today it slammed on brakes a foot short. 🤦♂️ Gravity is such a great driving luxury machine with incredible packaging & 95% of the time the software is excellent. The last 5% is aggravating at times. Last update fixed so much, but still lots to work on for the software team.

@TesCalendar1 @AustyUSA Blue collar culture gap absolutely exists and not entirely unfounded. Right now lots of EV service is proprietary and it’s hard to get parts. I mean on the consumer side.
English

@MaxPatten @AustyUSA Go into a machine shop or talk to 99% of people in skilled trades. Lol.
English

This is the most true image I’ve seen ever seen. This is why I’m confused at republicans obsession of oil. It’s against what they stand for.
Skscartoon@skscartoon
It is amazing
English

@AustyUSA @TesCalendar1 If you look at EV adoption in urban areas around Texas and Florida it’s clear it’s not a partisan thing. National politicians and media are behind the curve and get clicks pushing a tired narrative.
English

Yeah I’m call myself quite conservative and once I dipped my toes into learning about EVs it seemed obvious that many core aspects of EV ownership and proliferation are perfectly compatible with conservative ideals. People are just so misinformed and don’t question what they’re told to think. Heaven forbid people exercise critical thinking or have nuanced opinions 😅

@stalman The Verge is doing the best work they’ve ever done—they’ve always been focused on tech+policy/culture, not just “tech”. If you want a more traditional gadget blog that’s all YouTubers now. Many of them don’t have ethics policies.
English

I think I realized why I actually stopped reading The Verge: it feels like they just don’t like tech

@Mattlinn01 The European mind literally cannot comprehend this scene

@dictionaryhill @insta360 Road trip > fretting about miles.
At this point it’s clear you love the truck!
English

Just ordered an .@insta360 x5 since they went on sale.
I heard that a new camera is coming by July, but the price at Costco was compelling enough so I can have it with for my Big Route 66 road trip in May.
I’ve reached out to Lucid to see if I could find a Gravity press vehicle to tow the Airstream with along with the Iconic RT 66 photography but doesn’t seem they want to participate.
I don’t think GM has a press car program for something like that. So I’ll pull the Airstream with the Rivian! It’s gonna be epic.
This trip will for sure mean I need to buy the Rivian lease out.

@joecitizenus @ABC We’ll need it anyway for data centers. It took decades to build out oil rigs, refining capabilities, etc. and we’ll be using them for decades to come.
Infrastructure is a long term game.
English

@ABC Will take decades to build out the transmission lines, manufacturing capabilities, etc.
And then humans will find other things to fight about.
"Experts", please.
This is click bait, abc Notnews is the worst.
English

A widespread transition to renewable energy could mitigate a major cause of international conflict in a future that moves away from fossil fuels, energy and climate change experts told ABC News.

@secolem0305 @Holden_Ford1976 @ABC Working on oil rigs is very dangerous too!
Energy infrastructure has an environmental and human cost no matter what you do. But you can be smart about making investments that are diversified.
English

@Holden_Ford1976 @ABC Regardless of it being a TV show, the people who put those mills together have a VERY dangerous job. When I worked transportation, I worked to set these up for hauling. Talking with the folks there was a harrowing experience. Very sad. Good money, but not worth my life.
English

@CoreyBCantor “Experts” being common sense wisdom that goes against the vested interest of the fossil fuel industry 🤪
English

@ben_pellow hope they can do an OTA to improve the overall curve like they did for Polestar 2. But i fear this battery isn’t their focus anymore with new high voltage platform :(
English

@MaxPatten this is on a new cable, so i think it might be the car battery overheating not the cable? 🤷🏻♂️

English

1 year with the Polestar 3! Zero issues beyond small software hiccups. Absolutely love it!

@ben_pellow Also I suspect the drop to 150kW after 30% cliff is charger limited thermals with those Tesla cables! Curious what it might look like on other networks
English

Let me know how the charge test goes. Specifically the curve. On superchargers, mine drops off a cliff consistently at 30% from 194kW to 140kW before walking up to 150kW then holds for a while. Charges pretty fast at high SOC which is great but i’m curious why it tanks after 30% every time. (This graph is 3 separate charging tests i did at Superchargers after tons of preconditioning)

English

@ben_pellow Yeah I had mine trying to idle to 0% so I could do a full charge test but it fell asleep while I was in the driver seat at 2% and wouldn’t wake up from the hard reset procedure. Dealer this week is updating it to 2.1.24 and I’ll full charge again to recalibrate BMS
English

occasionally calls over bluetooth i can’t hear them + they can’t hear me but supposedly that’s fixed with the new Orin chip, sometimes it thinks someone is in the passenger seat and beeps until i reset the car, and the most serious one i got the first time the other day was an ESC error which took a way regen braking but letting the car sleep for an hour fixed that. A few infotainment resets when it wouldn’t connect to cellular too. I don’t think i’ve ever left the car when it’s that low i usually get to a charger and plug in right away when it’s that low.

#EVCS folks, come see @murphymike , myself, and the EVs for All America crew at our booth on the expo floor! We're at the end of the middle row coming in (pass the Alpitronic booth and keep going towards the back wall)
