Today, I signed two important bills to strengthen law and order in Florida by holding dangerous criminals and sex offenders accountable for their crimes. Missy’s Law (HB 445) enhances pretrial detention requirements to keep dangerous offenders, including those charged with exploiting children, locked up while they await trial and sentencing. HB 1159 increases penalties and modernizes Florida law governing child exploitation offenses, to include digitally generated child abuse content. In Florida, we will always fight to protect our children and deliver justice for victims of crimes.
