@NiallHarbison You talked about maybe establishing a safe area in your own home for her. Would it be possible to build her a "safe haven" in the retirement complex. You and your staff are in and out, so she would get human company. She could watch the dogs,so long as she isn't terrified by them.

@Go_CheshireWest Can I enquire why the green bin collection is delayed until mid March (20th in our area)? In previous years first collections have been at the end of Feb (early March for our area). The cost has increased by almost 5%.

@medicalmodelbri We've been able to use online booking for a few years now. Tried phoning recently dead on 0800 - no 27 in the queue. Tried booking online - no appointments available for the next 2 weeks. Then filled in for a call back - that actually worked and husband was seen that morning.

Some days I wish people listen to some of the things I say Powers that be eventually do Yet further down the road when it’s more of a mess (NB: The @lengreview was announced subsequently in Nov 2024 With ALL recommendations accepted in July 2025) #ThrowbackThursday

The majority of Physician Associates are in 1 care at the moment Can I suggest @NHSE_WTE @PrimaryCareNHS @rcgp consider commissioning a formal review of the role, issues around efficiency, supervisory capacity & safety? BEFORE further expansion? Literally your “specialty” No?

@ConsUltaNT_ACP @dru_jlh A hero without a cape. The patient and family must be so relieved that you were there. The ambulance service is stretched, but who's going to fix it and the rest of the NHS 😔.

I’m sure that you’re as disappointed as I am by the JR ruling released today. @AnaesUnited ‘s legal team could not have done more - their learned counsel were masterly, presenting arguments which were both erudite and imaginative. But Lambert J, while seeming (to me anyway) 1/4

It isn’t elitist to be proud to be a doctor. Don’t allow yourself to be gaslit to an extent where you aren’t proud of your hard earned degree. I am a Doctor. And very proud to be one. #WednesdayWords 😊

@NealOKelly @parthaskar Prof Kar hasn't even mentioned A Levels. He's merely stating that he's proud to be a doctor, having worked hard to qualify, albeit some years ago.

@parthaskar Acing you A-levels is great. Still crowing about it when you're in your 30s is a bit silly.

@NiallHarbison He seems to have changed just in the past two weeks from a grumpy, snarly old dog to a softie and even seems to love Niall and Earth now 😁🥰🤣. The patience, persistence and love of dogs of all the team has finally paid dividends.

@wesstreeting @BMAResidents This isn't helping the situation at all. Physician Assistants being treated exactly the same as FY1 Resident Doctors on a much higher pay band, with nowhere near the depth of knowledge of resident doctors. Sort it out.

Following a constructive meeting with @BMAResidents reps yesterday, we’ve agreed a window for negotiations without strikes in August to see if a resolution can be reached. Let’s see if we can build a spirit of partnership to build an NHS that works for patients and staff alike.

Imagine if PA leaders had said: "Child protection medicals are too far" "PAs shouldn't be acting as a Registrar" We may never have had Leng @UMAPsUK saw nothing wrong with the above They continue to push for unlimited scope PAs must think carefully about who they support 1/2
ExplosiveEnema@ExplosiveEnema2

If you are a PA who wants to see undifferentiated patients and act as a mid-level then get behind @UMAPsUK & continue to fight us If you are a PA who thinks your role may be beneficial in the areas outlined by @lengreview then let's work together to build that narrative & vision

A suggestion as I read a few views Suggest @lengreview release video of the stakeholders meeting? I asked a few specific questions -one was specifically around what Prof Leng would like @gmcuk to do re Physician Assistants A lot of people will find her replies quite helpful.

@DrLKVaughan 2/2 of education and training, meet the standards that we expect, and that they can be held to account if serious concerns are raised.' Not all PAs are registered, so unaccountable if something goes wrong. They haven't set scope, so how do they deem them to be safe?

@DrLKVaughan 1/2 This is an extract from the GMC's response to the Leng Review - 'As the regulator for PAs and AAs we work with them to ensure good, safe patient care. Our regulation has been helping provide assurance to patients, employers - and doctors that PAs and AAs have the right level

Here is my two cents on the Leng Review. As has been pointed out by others, it is a masterpiece of neutrality and diplomacy. Full of hedging and circumlocution. Not definitive. Written to be spun in every single way. The short-term recommendations are strong enough: 1/

Ok then- given it my thought and discussed with family. Given decision of @RCPhysicians ? The next stage will be the appeal Since opportunity to resolve not taken- there are next steps accordingly I categorically refute the conclusion- which is biased, and disproportionate. And I haven’t worked so long in tackling bias - for the system to bring it to my own door step. Either you censure all - irrespective of colour of your skin- or you don’t And for what it’s worth? An organisation which doesn’t listen to its Members- don’t give them voting rights- to choose their leaders -will dwindle into irrelevance. As the College slowly is. The question is whether to fight for it Or let it die. Enough for now on this- now we take it to process. There is no backing down against bias. And I don’t care how powerful you think you maybe. Thank you to many for their support- it is appreciated.

Thank you to Council @RCPhysicians for confirming decision of Censors. Not unexpected given that same Council voted FOR Associate Membership for PAs-even after #RCPEGM -and got halted by me exposing that in public. To the appeal next. And then next steps. And there are so many steps😊

@imlwi @wesstreeting Yet another disingenuous lie from that idiotic quack. A fresh out of uni PA (AfC band 6) earns less than a fresh out of uni F1.

Can a doctor move into the assistant role and get nearly £10k increase in pay? This obviously makes zero sense, please pay doctors what they're worth. @wesstreeting
Dr Haseena Wazir@DrHWazir

Physician Associates are being renamed to Physician Assistants because the public was confused about their role. But here’s what’s truly confusing: A physician assistant now starts on a salary that’s nearly £10,000 more than a fully qualified doctor. Read that again. Doctors - who train for years, take on legal responsibility, make life or death decisions; are being paid less than the people assisting them. Even if doctors won full pay restoration tomorrow, they still wouldn’t be on equal footing. @wesstreeting, how on earth is that acceptable? Doctors are leaving. The NHS is haemorrhaging staff. Patients are waiting longer for their appointments because this Government refuses to fix pay and value and retain doctors. Is it any surprise doctors are striking?
