PAC2 and MWC5 were so focused on a now meaningless logo that they missed out on a very good add in UNM. PAC has been groveling for UNLV, and as of late have added UNM to that list. Should have just merged with the top 9 MWC teams instead of pounding your chests in superiority.

Ironically enough, if the Kings pull this off and get a franchise-changer, you could argue that the De’Aaron Fox trade was so bad it actually helped their future by positioning them in what’s believed to be one of the best drafts in decades.

My not-at-all-hot take is that this is bad & they should unflatten the lotto odds (& probably go to reverse order)
It's quite unfair the worst team has an avg draft position of 3.7 (14% chance at #1) while the 8th worst team isn't that far back (7.0 avg pick + 6% chacne for #1)

The NBA presented three comprehensive anti-tanking concepts to its Board of Governors on Wednesday, with modifications expected to each before a formal vote in May, per ESPN sources. 1. 18 teams in draft lottery (seeds 7-15 in each conference) – flattened odds, with bottom 10 teams having an 8% chance, the remaining 20% odds distributed in decreasing order for 11 through 18, and and a lottery drawing for all 18 picks. 2) 22 teams in lottery using 2-year record (seeds 7-15, plus the four playoff first round exits in both conferences). Lottery teams would reach a minimum win total floor in each season, such as 25 wins. If a team falls short of the floor, it gets slotted to meet the floor. Top 4 drawn as part of lottery, as is currently. 3) 18 teams in a "5 by 5" lottery – bottom 5 teams have equal odds for the top pick, with lottery formed for picks 1-5. Bottom 5 teams have a floor at 10; those that fall out of top 5 get sorted in a separate drawing.

@jasonkredline Play the single biggest reason why the NBA will be successful in Vegas is because it’s an expansion team verse relocated team.
Just like with the NHL I think having the NBA during the winter months helps Vegas immensely and travel costs are cheaper

The pushback on Vegas getting a team is so hilarious to me.
People do not understand this town at all, and the deceptive headlines, ignore the reality that this is one of the best, most profitable, proffessional sports towns in America for three reasons
1. The local community happily gets behind winners. The Golden Knights are one of the best attended sports franchises in America, consistently selling out, and this is driven by locals, not by tourists.
2. Tourists travel to games, and professional sports are live entertainment, fitting perfectly on the strip.
3. This is the biggest one, that I’ve never seen talked about.
Owning an arena that can do live events, concerts etc, is unbelievably profitable on the strip.
Vegas is the king of concerts, owning an arena where you can make money renting it out for live events in Vegas is printing money.

@BlakeKrek @MattGeorgeSAC The comparisons to Trae Young need to stop immediately. I’ve actually been a pretty big fan of Trae. Since Oklahoma. But they are vastly different as players. Way too easy for people to pull these comparisons and it’s just not that simple.

Darius Acuff Jr is closer to Tyrese Maxey than Trae Young IMO.
But the point still stands. I reached out thinking that there would be hesitation from the Kings based on these same situations.

My slight confusion with the Darius Acuff Jr. interest is how the Kings didn't seem in on similar players (Trae Young, Ja Morant, etc.), but I think we all need more info before we assume the Kings have him higher than any of the other mock drafts we've seen.
