WHERE'S ALL THE "EXTRA" GLOBAL WARMING COMING FROM? METHANE!!! Only 1% compared to CO2, short-term Global Warming Potential/Global Temperature Potential is 120 times greater (Paul Balcombe et al). End result, EQUAL contribution to atmospheric heating! A slowly METHANE BOMB!

@RogerCoppock What about the immediate-term for CH4 warming effect, and the "short-life" of about 10 years? Decaying at about 8% per year, means a huge replacement flow, that does not seem to be mentioned or accounted for... Thank you, cheers. Roger

Table #2 of esrl.noaa.gov/gmd/aggi/aggi.…, says 2024 total forcing of all GHGs was 3.539 W/m^2. Over the area of the Earth, that is 1,558 Megatons TNT per hour. The total yield of the world's nuclear weapons = ~4,000 MT. THEY COULD ONLY POWER THE ANTHROPOGENIC GHE FOR ONLY 2.6 HOURS!

@RogerCoppock Please do not use a straight line through data that may not be linear. Use a power, exponential or other curve to look for non-linera correlations. Temperature is one, methane another and likely CO2. Thank you Then project it forward 10, 20 or 40 years. It will likely scare you

@JohnRustad4BC With respect, there are ships leaving the west coast of BC laden with LNG, propane and oil, with much of that production going to countries that are new customers. With a bit of time we will be less reliant on the US and price differentials should improve. How is this worse?

So much for “elbows up.” Canadians want and need leaders who are willing to stand up to the United States—They thought they were getting that with Mark Carney. As it turns out, Pierre was correct and Canada is now in a worse position than before. Here in BC, we also have a leftist government that preaches “elbows up” but then sends our jobs and taxpayer dollars overseas, instead of building Ferries in BC. Under the BC NDP, trade reliance on the USA has shot up, all while forgoing any diversification. As a result, we sell our natural gas to the Americans for a massive discount. It makes no sense and it makes Canada weak! Should provincial Conservatives have the privilege of forming government in BC, we will prioritize action instead of virtue signalling. We will create jobs and incentivize business in BC. This is how we stand up to Trump.

Let’s review: 1) Trump files a bogus lawsuit against CBS 2) Paramount caves; pays Trump over $16 million 3) Trump’s FCC approves Paramount’s sale to Skydance, giving Redstone family a $2.4 billion payday 4) Trump allies now own CBS News This is authoritarianism in action.

I now chair Britannia Shipyard Nat Hist Site. We want to finish the site ASAP as a Living History Museum, provide Stay-cations, bigger, better Maritime Festival & events through the year; have rapid bus/LRT to Steveston. Major #ClimateChange is imminent. We must have alternatives

Global warming reached an estimated 1.51°C in May 2025. 'If the 15-year warming trend leading up to then continued, global warming would reach 2°C by December 2036' May was the first month below this trend in almost two years. Global warming accelerated significantly!

During our Climate Chat, someone asked when we reach +3.0°C with current warming rates. Here I extrapolated the warming rate from 'Global Warming has Accelerated Significantly' by Grant Foster and Stefan @Rahmstorf (2025 preprint) to up to +4°C (extending their table 1):

Around $2.2 trillion is set to be invested collectively in renewables, nuclear, grids, storage, low-emissions fuels, efficiency & electrification this year. This is twice as much as the $1.1 trillion going to oil, gas & coal. Learn more ➡️ iea.li/43FIxCN

~7% increase in moisture in 2024 as compared to 1990s. About in line with Clausius Clapeyron
Prof. Jason Box ⚡️@climate_ice

global atmospheric humidity is increasing, record high in 2024 🫧 As such, when it rains it can rain more, when it snows it can snow more. Higher humidity is no surprise given how water vapor pressure is a quadratic function of temperature (Clausius-Clapyron relationship) @CopernicusEU #424ad833-5268-4541-946b-0a110fcca036" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">climate.copernicus.eu/global-climate…

Re: Blatten Glacier collapse; interesting point by glaciologist Rachel Carr in recent Bloomberg Green newsletter: “It was the least worst scenario — any loss of property or homes is a tragedy, but they were prepared for it”. As the newsletter (by Laura Millan) points out, much of the rest of the world doesn’t quite have the capacity to respond effectively and in advance, and “Billions of people globally live downstream from glaciers and at least 15 million are directly exposed to floods from glacial lakes bursting”.

@pmagn @Harold_Steves Climate Watcher. Try using an Excel or R polynomial curve to fit the data. I suspect it will be at least a second order exponential, ie x squared, maybe x cubed or x to the fourth. It's accelerating at a scary pace, and seems to almost be runaway! Let me know your ccx results
