I never liked drinking out of plastic bottles. Not even for microplastic reasons. I didn’t know anything about that I’ve just always like glass bottle and then can and then plastic bottle way down in last place. I think most are the same.

I'm 45 years old. I've recently found a handful of friends where the connection was immediate. Each of us are mid-40s. Each of us has come through, or are in a particularly hard season. We are dealing with teens. We are dealing with aging parents. We've lost friendships over the years that were devestating. The illusion of a tight community or "my people" vanished for one reason or another. And it seems that none of us has time or energy for pretense. We have no capacity to even guard our hearts. We are vulnerable because that's all that's left. Things are what they are, and we aren't afraid to say it. We are super direct with each other, but the grace is more abundant than I've ever experienced, and we are fine with disagreement. And I've been wondering why these friendships feel unique. Is it the stage of life? Is it just these women? Will this bubble burst? Did God just bless us abundantly with what we needed today? I was thinking about this last night, and realized that the majority of adult friendship for women (I don't have experience in the male department) your friends are trying to get something from you. MLM schemes. PTA volunteering. Help with this. Help with that. But we're trying to establish community. It's for the kids. Insecurity over our own mothering, that there's a felt need to get everyone to agree with how you do things. Enormous expectations for how you show up. All of us showed up with "I got nothin' but Jesus" and it's been glorious. I wonder if it just took that many decades to tear down our ideal. Or maybe it's stage of life. I don't know. But I love it.

@Prolife_Sam It seems like this labor goes on quite awhile, which would make it more difficult for sure. I’ve had 7 babies naturally, and only one of the labors was long like this.

@KennyBurchard I guess I should have added another sentence making clear that I was referring to the lack of the Bible readings in the Protestant service, NOT the Mass. I am a devout Catholic and comprehend well the Scriptural basis of the Holy Mass. But thanks, everyone! 😂

I've been a Catholic for 7 years now. I watched the Easter Service online at the Church I founded in 2001 (and pastored for 12 yrs) yesterday. There were 4 songs, a welcome, an offering, and the pastor (who succeeded me) spoke for FORTY.FIVE. minutes. That was the Easter service.

@lynssss3125 We live in MI in an “excellent” school district. We’ve homeschooled or done private school for all 7 of our kids. Years ago, I had to threaten a lawsuit bc the district wouldn’t allow my son to take the PSAT at the HS. They only let him take it at the “alternative” school.

On my way home from dropping off my daughter do her first day at her new school. Fuck you, West Bloomfield, for turning our district into a liberal ran shit hole.

@shoesonplease I would not, but only bc I went to MSU…but my hubby would since he went to UM (and is currently shouting at the game w/my 18 yo son). I still remember riding around in the car as a tween w/my Dad when the Tigers won in 1984!
