Democrats do realize whites are minorities in the states of California, Texas, Arizona, half of New Mexico is non-white, Florida has a 60% white population, NYC only has a 33% white population. So do Democrats believe race-based redistricting should be for everyone or only groups that vote for them overwhelmingly? Where I live whites make up 20% of the population and we don't white politicians, mostly Hispanic, but we don't get any special privileges.
