@GospelAndGlory @Moderatemuch @gailfinke @MrsCMFrancis Those men and their writings are not inspired, not part of the closed canon of scripture. The Bible tells if a substitutionary atonement and a need for an alien righteousness, the very righteousness of God in Christ. At issue is how sinners are justified.

As an Evangelical, I absolutely think that I have many brothers and sister in the Catholic Church. I am asking this sincerely: do Catholics feel the same? (P.s. any bashing on either side in the comments is getting an instant block)

@Moderatemuch @gailfinke @MrsCMFrancis Eph28-9 For by grace you have been saved thru faith.& this is not your own doing;it is the gift of God,not a result of works,so that no one may boast.Ja2:24 speaks of the fact that good works characterize the believer who obeys not FOR salvation, but FROM it.

@ils_form @MrsCMFrancis Yea the scripture isn’t a catechism on baptism, or membership inside or outside the church is it? That’s your point? Scripture isn’t sufficient?

maybe try reading when you are reading..... "What was the hermeneutical principle of the NT? That the oral tradition, explain the written tradition! That the successors of the apostles would transmit the Gospel! And that the Church could never fall to the Devil. Was it clear? Yes yes it was: Acts of the Apostles 2:42, 2 Thessalonians 2:15, 2 Thessalonians 3:6, 1 Corinthians 11:2, 2 Timothy 1:13–14, 2 Timothy 2:2, 1 Timothy 3:15, Luke 10:16, Matthew 28:19–20, John 14:16–17, John 16:13, Matthew 16:18, Ephesians 3:10, Ephesians 4:11–14, Acts 15:6–11"

Ashley Sheatz (nee Huizar) is not famous, but she had publicly testified to her conversion for nearly a decade. She's had her testimony publicly pinned to her X profile for nearly 7 years (it has 4.3k Likes). Tens of thousands of people have heard it--maybe hundreds of thousands. Her husband merely shared a slice of that. And yet you've slandered him publicly, put the word "whore" in his mouth, and mocked this sweet couple. Yet on your very own video page, you've racked up over a million views talking in public with a former sex worker. Michael, you've taken some consequential stands. I honor you for that. But you seem to be plying a distinction without a difference here--and you opened up your guns without doing due diligence. To repeat: Ashley's publicly shared her testimony to tens of thousands of people since at least 2019.

Instead of sound hermeneutical principles… What are those? Check notes: ? Oh that’s right it’s what ever you feel like scripture should be saying. What was the hermeneutical principle of the NT? That the oral tradition, explain the written tradition! That the successors of the apostles would transmit the Gospel! And that the Church could never fall to the Devil. Was it clear? Yes yes it was: Acts of the Apostles 2:42, 2 Thessalonians 2:15, 2 Thessalonians 3:6, 1 Corinthians 11:2, 2 Timothy 1:13–14, 2 Timothy 2:2, 1 Timothy 3:15, Luke 10:16, Matthew 28:19–20, John 14:16–17, John 16:13, Matthew 16:18, Ephesians 3:10, Ephesians 4:11–14, Acts 15:6–11 That is the profession of the NT Itself, and those who received and Codified the NT. Irenaeus of Lyons argues against the Gnostics not by saying: “You’re reading the text incorrectly grammatically…” “You’re reading it outside the continuous faith handed down from the apostles.” It’s ubiquitous that the expression of the faith by previous successors of the Apostles IS THE MOST IMPORTANT HERMENEUTIC in understand the scriptures.

@Moderatemuch @NCalvinist1689 @MrsCMFrancis I love how false theological premises almost always center around history and tradition as if that gives you the high ground instead of sound hermeneutical principals. The fact that you’re here actually arguing about this says a lot about you actually and it’s not good

Again… this is another comment totally divorced from historical Christianity. What I said, is what the Fathers said, and the scholastics reiterated. It’s what the Church has said for 2000 years. What you say is important isn’t based ecumenical councils, the extraordinary magisterium, or the writings of the Fathers and Doctors of the church. It’s based on how you feel. I don’t choose what the Church says I receive what the church says. And you are saying it’s silly I don’t choose, because then I could be wrong? Does that really make sense to you?

@Moderatemuch @NCalvinist1689 @MrsCMFrancis Read what I said because I was talking about you! The idea that you’re going to leave your interpretation in a matter that has dire consequences for you if they’re wrong is the most insanely stupid thing you could ever do and the reason you do it? You want nothing to do with God

@GospelAndGlory @Moderatemuch @gailfinke @MrsCMFrancis Jesus bore our guilt and shame drinking the cup of the Wrath of God for sins to the dregs. He died in my place & with His imputed righteousness to me, I am made clean already seated in heavenly places in Him. No work of future ‘purging’ necessary Rom8:28-30

@NCalvinist1689 @ChirpnChickadee @MrsCMFrancis The Gospel of Jesus Christ says the Church is the pillar and foundation of Truth… Your vision of church is nothing like what the apostles preached, what Peter established in Rome or what the early church believed in. You’ve abandoned THE GOSPEL, for a man made NEW GOSPEL.

@ChirpnChickadee @MrsCMFrancis @Moderatemuch You will never get me to leave the freedom of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to go back to Rome! These kinds of comments show that words are being emptied of meaning. Heresy means to choose for yourself instead of receiving what has been handed down. A heretic chooses rather than submitting to the Faith of the Body of Christ—the Church. But if you are your own church, then everyone else is a heretic simply because they don’t choose what you choose. At that point, the word no longer has any real meaning.

@NCalvinist1689 @MrsCMFrancis @Moderatemuch It’s a Mary worship cult designed to give people the security that they’re Christian when they’re not. The more I’ve preached the Gospel and witnessed the many heresies that exist within all versions it seems most people prefer the lie that they’re saved to avoid genuine faith

@VeiledinPrayer @Moderatemuch @MrsCMFrancis So how do you know it if it was never written? The early church fathers wrote down and then around 350- 500 ad they made up traditions. 🤷‍♂️. Read the early fathers and tell me I am wrong

@ChirpnChickadee @MrsCMFrancis @Moderatemuch Please read the book of Hebrews & see that Christ is the greater David, the perfect&final Prophet, Priest & King- NOT the papacy. To say otherwise is pure heresy & blasphemy. Nowhere in scripture is Mary referred to as Queen.

@NCalvinist1689 @gailfinke @MrsCMFrancis Have you not thought about this contradiction that is your own statement? Your own thought? How is one saved by faith alone, when their faith alone doesn’t save them, because they also do works? It’s ridiculous…

@Moderatemuch @gailfinke @MrsCMFrancis You can’t erase my past, can’t erase the sad state my aging parents, sisters&family are in with no gospel & militantly resistant to the free offer of grace alone through faith in Christ alone. My mom literally shook her fist in the air at the thought of it.

@gailfinke @MrsCMFrancis @Moderatemuch Funny how people will give a former LDS platform all day long but squelch the opinion of a former RC. It would be wise to hear from someone who was there for over 30 years; one whom God brought out of that place to hear the true Gospel & be saved.

ὁ γὰρ ἐσθίων καὶ πίνων κρίμα ἑαυτῷ ἐσθίει καὶ πίνει μὴ διακρίνων τὸ σῶμα κρίμα (krima) judgment, condemnation Not just “bad outcome”—this is divine judgment μὴ διακρίνων (mē diakrinōn) •From διακρίνω (diakrinō)- discern, separate rightly, judge properly τὸ σῶμα (to sōma)- “the body” Have you read Paul? Paul doesn’t say, he who doesn’t discern the bread will be judged. He who receives THE BODY, and who doesn’t believe it’s THE BODY, or receives unworthily. will be judged. Paul condemns you, and so does Ignatius the disciple of John the Beloved. You call John, Ignatius, Paul heretics blasphemers, and idolatrous… you must be a Jew!

@Moderatemuch @MrsCMFrancis Burning members for having the scriptures. Having a doctrine that says the sacrament literally turns into flesh and blood. That priests can absolve sin. No man can. RCC members believe in magical items more than God. I could go on and on. Its not my job.
