In any sane nation, the news headline would be- " Young sensation Meenakshi Goyat, daughter of a farmer from Chhabri village in Jind, defeats Vinesh Phogat, Congress MLA who gained notoriety for forcing her way into different weight category in Olympic and costing India her chance at medal. The short-lived victory of Meenakshi ended with her defeat by Antim Panghal, the youngest of the three (19). Antim is two-times senior Bronze medalist, and 2022 Asiad Bronze medalist. The young rising star from Haryana represents hopes for Indian women wrestling in times to come.

Greetings, @royalenfield After a month of unanswered appeals, I can only presume my complaint is being transported manually atop horseback through the provinces.Your customer service possesses the rare efficiency of a 19th-century telegram during monsoon season. Do inform me is resolution expected within this century, or ought I pass the matter unto future generations?

A sweeping statement that has no basis in reality. Political bias is clouding judgment. A proper perspective is needed. Trump has upturned the global system to the point of excluding even US allies from ‘the high table making international decisions.” He started the Iran war that is ravaging the international system together with Israel but without consulting anyone else. He has humiliated Europe, even in matters of European security. He is claiming European territory. He has humiliated Japan and South Korea. They are concerned about how much they can rely on the US for security. He is treating his Arab allies with contempt by publicly demanding that they join the Abraham Accords and set aside the Palestinian question. He has humiliated South Africa, even to the point of not inviting it for the G 20 meeting. He has called Africa a shit hole. He is at odds with Lula’s Brazil. Business interests and Pakistan’s tactical ego-massaging of Trump explain his lionising of Asim Munir at the cost of Shehbaz Sharif. He has successfully hit Russian interests in Venezuela and Cuba and those of China in Venezuela and Panama. Both have not been able to counter Trump’s declared intention to treat Latin America as his backyard. India remains an invitee to the G 7 and G 20 summits. Europe is seeing India as a vital partner. A Nordic Summit with India has just taken place Canada too is now courting India. India remains a leader of the Global South. The India- Africa summit was to take place but had to be postponed because of Ebola. India is chairing the BRICS this year. For the summit Putin will be coming and so should Xi Jinping. Russia and India value their mutual ties amd are looking to expand them. Lavrov advocates a Russia- India- China dialogue to strengthen multipolarity. Despite Trump’s slights the US wants to keep the India ball in the air as the Quad meeting shows. Why have such low self- esteem? We should have a sense of our own worth. Our future will be build by ourselves.

This translates to ₹450 crore every month. ₹5,400 crore annually. And this is just one scheme. The scale of fraud could grow even further once Aadhaar seeding exposes the full extent of duplication and ghost beneficiaries. Now imagine the loot across other schemes and across the entire welfare architecture of the West Bengal government. Mamata Banerjee and her nephew have looted Bengal with both hands.

Different parts of India are witnessing soaring temperatures and the challenges that come with it. This heat is harsh on all of us and I urge you all to take as many precautions as possible. Please stay hydrated, keep water with you when stepping out. Offer a glass of water to others. In weather like this, such kindness goes a long way.

Pradeep Gupta sharing his experience of Bengal: “In 2017, employees of Axis My India were arrested by Bengal Police and were in jail for 30 days. In this election as well, employees were arrested and spent 18 days in Dum Dum Jail. All gadgets are still in police custody.” That is fine and expected, but why did he never share these stories when TMC was in power? He sat next to the husband of a TMC MP and never raised this issue. Everyone was a victim of TMC rule, but the silence of powerful people during TMC rule is not acceptable.

Back in 2012, @sagarikaghose then a news anchor now Deputy Leader of TMC organised a newsroom Q&A with students. A 22 year old Tanya Bharadwaj, asked a question to Mamata Banerjee and Mamata got furious, labelled her CPI cadet, Maoist and more and walked off the stage. That same night, Tanya had to leave Kolkata as goons and party supporters were allegedly after her, according to a batchmate. Sagarika Ghose did not support or defend her. Today, 14 years later that same lady recalls the incident and heaves a sigh of relief.

Medical insurance absolutely saves 100s of people from going bankrupt, SO it is so easy to always call out insurance, But here are the major challenges👇 Hospital charging more is a hospital problem. Hospital overcharging and carrying out irrational tests is a known problem, Now, on the next thing, You can't see the invoice, This is also absolutely incorrect, When the insurer enrolls in a cashless facility of the hospital. They enter into an agreement for the length of stay and the cost for every surgery, So in your case, the entire cost for knee replacement is already pre-decided with the insurer, The hospital has the responsibility to transparently share the entire bill with you and the insurer. The patient absolutely has the right to access the bill and treatment details. Now onto the costs, The charges in cash and insurance differ from about 20-50%. This is becuase of cost of administering insurance as well as the delay in payments from the insurance companies. This is a problem for both the insurance company and the hospital, This is a real challenge and IRDAI is working towards solving this. Finally to answer, Hospitals are driving medical inflation to crazy levels, Insurers are in turn raising premiums to crazy levels, Both are to be blamed for making affordable health care unaffrordable,
Pritesh Lakhani@priteshlakhani

Yesterday I visited a hospital as we’re planning Mom’s knee replacement surgery. As part of the pre-op process, we were asked to do a series of blood tests. The hospital quoted ₹14K for the tests. Ahmedabad’s top laboratory charged ₹6K for the exact same reports. In either case i will get reimbursed from insurance. What surprised me wasn’t just the difference in pricing. This surgery is already sold as a fixed 3N-4D package approved by the TPA. Everything from the room to bandages is bundled in, yet there’s almost no transparency on what costs what. You only see the final invoice. And because ours is a cashless claim, it becomes even harder to understand what we are actually paying for, what part is genuinely expensive, and how much pricing changes simply because insurance exists. The hospital’s argument is that insurance companies delay payments by 4-6 months, so hospitals build those costs into the system and cashless becomes a hidden convenience fee for patients. On the other side, insurance companies happily sell you a policy on day one, then spend years questioning every claim. Is medical insurance solving healthcare inflation, or quietly driving it?

Elon Musk's first wife once described what it's like to watch him fail. She said he doesn't react the way normal people react. When a rocket explodes, most people in the room go silent. Some cry. Some start calculating the financial damage. Musk pulls out his phone and starts making calls. Not emotional calls. Engineering calls. "What failed. When can we fix it. When's the next launch." His voice doesn't change. His face doesn't change. The rocket that just cost $60 million is already in the past. The next one is all that exists. She said it was the most unsettling thing she'd ever witnessed. Not because he was cold. Because he genuinely wasn't affected. The failure didn't register as failure. It registered as data. An experiment that produced results. Results that inform the next experiment. This is why he wins. Not because he doesn't fail. He fails more spectacularly than anyone in history. He wins because failure occupies zero psychological space. It enters as data and exits as action. Most people lose not because they fail but because they spend weeks processing the failure before acting again. Musk spends zero seconds. The gap between failure and next attempt is a phone call. - @multiplanet1

In India, Being late is not treated as disrespectful. It’s treated as status. But the strange part was not the delay. They didn’t even acknowledge it. No sorry, no got stuck, no thanks for waiting. And that’s when I realized something deeper - In India, coming late is subconsciously associated with power. The later you arrive, the more “important” people think you are. If someone arrives exactly on time, people almost look at them like an idiot. You reach an event on time, and people laugh: ‘Arre itni jaldi aa gaye?’ It’s bizarre - People can’t wait 5 seconds at a traffic light. And the worst part is not even the delay. It’s the normalization of it. Making someone sit and wait without informing them is not power. It’s stupidity. Some people genuinely feel proud of making others wait. A society’s culture is visible in how it treats time. And honestly, India has normalized disrespect in the name of status.
