@jordainc To be clear, there are precisely zero meaningful reforms in this bill. No independent checks = no privacy protections. And it’s twice as long of a reauthorization as the administration even asked for.

Section 8: Extend warrantless FISA 702 surveillance for the remainder of the Trump administration, plus three months. The idea that any reformer should get behind this is laughable. This is "reauthorize 702 and let us oversee ourselves, and if we abuse it, we'll let you know."

Section 7: GAO to do a report, due in 1yr, not stated to have to be public, to the Intelligence and Judiciary Committees, on whether the government is TARGETING appropriately, but not on whether they're QUERYING appropriately ...which, again, is 99% of reformers' concerns
