PSA: Prices and delivery terms for LG appliances are great, if you buy from @LGUS. But every post-sale communication from them will be wrong or incompetent. Website is confused. Emails give bad links. Just wait to hear from the delivery co.

The largest COVID study to date — covering nearly four years of data and 29 million people — delivers a clear result. Out of the sample, 23 million were vaccinated and 6 million were not. Among the vaccinated, the risk of dying from COVID was 74% lower, with ZERO increase in deaths from any other cause. Of course, none of this will change the minds of anti-vaxxers. They will blame the researchers, politics, or even Ukraine. And that’s not a joke — people with anti-vaccine attitudes are significantly more likely to believe that “NATO provoked” the russian war against Ukraine.

Wasted an hour because lazy programmers at @CapitalOne use the "we need more info; call us" message for every error, instead of (say) "you can't have more than 3 checking accounts". Two @AskCapitalOne reps were clueless about this limit. #UXFail #ShittyUI

Idiotically, @Quicken pops an ad for some add-on service onto the Windows desktop, with the "close" button off-screen and unreachable. (1) What do people do who don't use task/process managers? (2) Do NONE of these companies test their shitty software? #UXFail #ShittyUI

Disinformation and the destruction of public health & America’s trust in doctors will kill more people than cigarettes. Neither I nor the other five living Surgeons General wanted to call for this unprecedented warning- but all felt compelled by duty to do so. wapo.st/3VTALll

@carinemhajjar You don't have to oppose free and open debate to acknowledge this: Kirk was a hateful white supremacist whose legacy is being buffed up by servile pundits who reduce hate speech to "brash comments", as you did on Saturday.

You didn’t have to agree with Charlie Kirk to respect this: he showed up for tough conversations in hostile spaces—at the height of campus cancel culture.

@CapeAir your KAP1010 just buzzed my house. Local pilots are impressed by how low some of your pilots fly. Would you maybe think about noise abatement, or at least being responsible citizens?

No, @USPS, you do NOT want to assert that US phone numbers "Must be less than 10 characters long". (This bug appears when setting up MFA via SMS) CC: @USPSHelp

I was explaining to my Ukrainian colleague the phrase ‘There’s no such thing as a free lunch’. She told me the equivalent in Ukrainian is ‘The only free cheese is in the mousetrap’ - which is so much better

@Scherlis I thought it was a weirdly misleading statement by Chris Butera given that their own CISA advisory on this literally says "low attack complexity"

@midwestneil Wow. Because it's usually reassuring to read "would require physical access" But not when that's followed by "[to railroad tracks, anywhere]"!

@EdKrassen I guess I'm obligated to also insist: 86 47 !! (Which should, obviously, be understood to mean "impeach, else disempower". Calls for political violence are unacceptable.) #8647

@RepThompson In fact, once you incorporate the effects of the estate tax - a tax that will cost $212 BILLION and literally only benefits a small number of estates worth a minimum of $14 million - the benefits are massively skewed towards the wealthy in tax year 2027: x.com/Brendan_Duke/s…
Brendan Duke@Brendan_Duke

New @CenterOnBudget analysis of the draft GOP tax plan released yesterday: Unsurprisingly, it provides enormous tax cuts for the wealthy—including an average annual $65k cut for the top 1%—while doing little for low- and moderate-income families in 2027 (and even less by 2029).

"Not like Dachau, is it, herr mufti?" This 1948 New York Times cartoon is more relevant then ever today. Notice that "Palestine" represents a Zionist resisting the Nazi Islamist. After the war, when people said "free Palestine" they meant "establish a Jewish state."
