@IADraino @Quinn_Douglas_ Your post makes you sound like one of the parents that wanted him out cause your son didn’t play. Maybe you’re an ass?

Umpire incompetence or a Rulebook/ABS Mismatch issue? 🤔 This pitch may have been both: -a Strike according the rulebook strike zone (3 dimensional/starting at the front of the plate), and -a Ball, according to ABS (2 dimensional/measured at the middle of the plate).

.@stephenasmith: You’re down in Texas and as a right-winger, you're about to go left because of what you're seeing? Voter: I'm gonna vote for Mr. Talarico, man, 100%. I haven't voted Democratic since I was 20 years old. I am absolutely disgusted with the way things are going. James Talarico is a different deal. He speaks from the heart. I know some of the people he knows. The guy is the real deal, man.

@PROducerIOTB This is absolute garbage whether it was a homerun or an out doesn’t matter. When did this become acceptable? I’m all in on this being an automatic ejection. If a batter is rung up and does this he’d get tossed.

At this point Self has to retire or get a GM to run roster construction. He’s got no idea how to put a team together in the portal era and it’s fairly obvious he is out of touch with the current game style basketball requires

@Challenger_ST The “tools” you refer to is god given athleticism. Yes you can always improve your skills, but if you aren’t blessed with the level of athleticism needed for the next level all the practice in the world isn’t making up for that.

No baseball coach ever: “Man, I want that pitcher who throws 76 mph because they made 3 pointers in basketball.” Yes, playing multiple sports can make you more athletic, but you still need the tools for the sport you want to play at the next level

@BryanDFischer Really? What the hell do you know about officiating that the officiating pool being explained to you would help you? You know who knows who the best are? The guys who assign the games and other officials.

@highiqreffan @RefObserver17 All of them have other jobs? I’ll bet heavy against that. Working those schedules what kind of job would they have? It’s not the NCAA that would care, Its the officials who would lose, what, 20-30K over a season? For no guarantee of even working in the NCAA tournament.

@StanLopeman @RefObserver17 What would the NCAA care about how much $ they would lose? If they still want to work 7 days a week they can. But the top dogs want to be in the big dance. guys like Ayers (who I love) would be in a much better place only doing 4 a week! *btw, all of them have other jobs!

Tell the NCAA and conferences. It's all about $$$. They don't want to pay officials as employees. So, you get incentives to work as many games as possible. Limited time span in years and months. Coaches want top guys. Can't blame the officials. They are given the games.
CJ Moore@CJMooreHoops

My big thing is they need to be employees. Probably of conferences so someone is managing their schedules. Right now they’re incentivized to work as much as possible.

@highiqreffan @RefObserver17 How much money would they lose doing that 4 games a week max compare to how much they make in the NCAA tournament? How many games will they work in the tournament? One per weekend with no guarantee of the next weekend. So give up how many games for what? 4-5 max? Nope

@RefObserver17 simple answer to these guys working too many games. NCAA does not need to make them employees or run t risk of being sued cause refs are independent contractors....NCAA can make a requirement to work the tournament (which they run)...an official can't work more than 4 gms a week

@CJMooreHoops His long standing grudge against Self was the bigger factor. Self has said clearly in years past that Sirmons does not like him & he blatantly inserted himself into a situation where he was not involved to call the second T. It looked personal.

Doug Sirmons, who ejected Self, is officiating his ninth game in nine days. He’s had one day off since Feb. 15. Not saying it’s an excuse, but you wonder how levelheaded someone can be when working and traveling that much.

Referees being independent contractors, who often go weeks at a time without more than a day or two off, is low key one of the biggest problems in college basketball that no one realizes is a really big problem

@bbn_lifer @Aaron_Torres You don’t think these guys aren’t evaluated every game? That they scrutinize their own game film? Theses guys you see on tv a lot, if you know their name, they aren’t good they’re FUCKING GOOD! They’re better at officiating basketball than you are at about anything.

@Aaron_Torres Also, where is the time to review and get feedback on their performance? We all can improve at our jobs. More transparency on oversight and review from the leagues would be helpful.

My mom and I train on our own since we can’t afford a hitting coach. Being on a travel team 3 hrs away makes it hard to pay for extra things. Slowing my swing down and watching it over and over is how I adjust and keep improving. Can’t wait to play again soon! #2028recruit

@StephsMundo @LongTimeHistory It's really creepy that they accuse Dems of being what they are. Every single time Americans fall for it. Power of the media which is NOT liberal biased. Just the opposite. If Americans only knew the truth. Now they won't/can't believe truth. Things are very bad.
