The United States is horrified by the attack on a @WFP and @UNICEF convoy delivering urgent life-saving assistance to famine-stricken areas in El Fasher and the reported deaths of at least 5 humanitarian workers. We call for accountability and reiterate the need for the parties to enable unfettered humanitarian assistance, including ensuring the safety of humanitarian workers, and protect civilians.

It’s no secret that this Administration has made enforcement of our Nation’s border security and immigration laws a top priority. A key part of that effort is to create incentives for illegal aliens and their families to depart our country voluntarily. The CBP Home app creates a mechanism to do just that: it offers free and dignified flights home and an exit bonus. I’m pleased to announce that yesterday the first flights under this program arrived in Honduras🇭🇳and Colombia 🇨🇴, where those who accepted this voluntary repatriation offer were welcomed by family and friends. This is the path forward!

Today @DeputySecState welcomed the first group of Afrikaner refugees fleeing persecution from their native South Africa. We stand with these refugees, many of them farmers and former business owners, as they build a better future for themselves and their children here in the United States.

As directed by the President, @StateDept is helping eligible Afrikaners in South Africa find safety in 🇺🇸 through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program. Individuals may submit a statement of interest form on the @USEmbassySA website za.usembassy.gov

As @POTUS assured, Afrikaners fleeing persecution are welcome in the United States. The South African government has treated these people terribly — threatening to steal their private land and subjected them to vile racial discrimination. The Trump Administration is proud to offer them refuge in our great country.

If you are here illegally, self-deportation is the best, safest and most cost-effective way to leave the United States to avoid arrest. DHS is now offering illegal aliens financial travel assistance and a stipend to return to their home country through the CBP Home App.

We urge the protection of civilians, including humanitarian workers.  We also call for opening humanitarian corridors to enable humanitarian access and the safe passage of civilians fleeing violence. The belligerents must uphold their obligations under international humanitarian law and must be held accountable.

The U.S. is deeply alarmed by reports of attacks by the RSF on Zamzam and Abu Shouk IDP camps outside El Fasher, North Darfur. We condemn the RSF's attacks on the most vulnerable of civilians, including the killings of 9 U.S.-funded relief workers providing critical life-saving assistance.

Today, the U.S. co-hosted a side event for the Geneva Consensus Declaration coalition on the margins of the 58th Session of the @UN Commission on Population and Development. Under @POTUS’ leadership, the U.S. is committed to protecting life and promoting women’s health to save lives, allow women and girls more opportunities, and protect families.

Following initial assessments from our disaster experts, the United States is making approximately $7 million in additional funds available to support earthquake-affected communities in Burma. This additional support, on top of the $2 million announced on March 31, will provide earthquake-affected communities with emergency shelter, food, medical care, and water.

The United States is reorienting our foreign assistance programs to align directly with what is best for the United States and our citizens. We are continuing essential lifesaving programs and making strategic investments that strengthen our partners and our own country.

My prayers go out to the people of Burma and Thailand who are impacted by the earthquake.  Grateful to confirm our teams on the ground are safe and secure amidst reports of severe damage and casualties. We've been in contact with these countries and, as @POTUS said, stand ready to provide assistance.

Foreign assistance done right can advance our national interests, protect our borders, and strengthen our partnerships with key allies.  Unfortunately, USAID strayed from its original mission long ago.  As a result, the gains were too few and the costs were too high. Thanks to President Trump, this misguided and fiscally irresponsible era is now over.   We are reorienting our foreign assistance programs to align directly with what is best for the United States and our citizens.  We are continuing essential lifesaving programs and making strategic investments that strengthen our partners and our own country.   This is yet another promise made and delivered to the American people.

The United States is providing $73 million in new assistance for Rohingya refugees. This food and nutrition support through @WFP will provide critically needed food and nutrition assistance for more than one million people. It is important that our international partners engage with sharing the burden with life-saving assistance such as this.
