The AI Crypto sector has already grown into a multi-billion-dollar market, led by projects such as @Bittensor_, @RenderNetwork, and @NEARProtocol. After spending a lot of time researching the sector, I've found a few key metrics that I believe every AI investor should pay attention to: 1/ Revenue & Fees Generated Just like traditional businesses, revenue remains one of the most important metrics. For AI Crypto, revenue can come from: – GPU rentals (Render) – Model inference (Bittensor subnets) – Data marketplaces – Agent transactions If a protocol isn't generating revenue, it's difficult to justify long-term value. 2/ TVL, Compute Power & Onchain Activity TVL remains useful for measuring capital committed to a protocol. For AI and DePIN projects such as Render or @Akashnet_, compute supply and utilization rates are often even more important. Other metrics worth tracking include: – Active Bittensor subnets – Models being trained or used for inference – Data volume processed – Active wallet addresses These metrics provide a much clearer picture of actual network usage. 3/ User Adoption, Ecosystem Growth & Competitive Positioning User growth remains one of the strongest indicators of product-market fit. Things I pay close attention to include: – Active users – Ecosystem growth – Developer activity – Partnerships – Market share within a specific niche For ecosystems like @virtuals_io and @clawpumptech, the number of AI agents being launched is also an important metric because it reflects ecosystem expansion and Agent Economy growth. I prefer evaluating AI projects through a combination of revenue growth, real usage, healthy tokenomics, and consistent execution rather than relying on a single metric. We think the Economics Nobel Prize confers some kind of real economic insight about how a poor country becomes rich. It does not. If you want real insight about how a developing nation gets rich, study Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore, study Japan, study South Korea, study Taiwan, study post-Mao China. They have all lifted people up from poverty, produced widely shared prosperity but they do not produce Nobel Laureates in Economics. The book "How Asia Works" by Joe Studwell is a great read. Tldr; ignore Nobel Laureates in Economics. That is not the path to wealth.
