The meat of this thread will focus on Ordinals Agents...a relatable way to describe what that means is like a "smart contract wallet on L1 Bitcoin", which is able to execute transactions on your behalf, according to predefined policies you set.
To be clear, smart contract functionality does not exist on Bitcoin. Recent pushes for an old BTC op_code called OP_CAT (concatenate) has been championed by @TaprootWizards frontmen @udiWertheimer and @ercwl. Meanwhile, OP_CTV (check template verify) by @JeremyRubin has been on the BIP proposal docket for years. Each of these could introduce a level of composability that would greatly enhance Bitcoin's expressivity. But there's no timeline on merging for either.
However, @rodarmor & @raphjaph decided to push the needle forward by introducing interactive transaction construction via Ordinals Agents. Here's Casey in his own words describing what an Agent is, and what it can do:

ODIN•FUN is running really slowly right now. Taking like 30 seconds to load.
Purchases still work on my end though once you get it all loaded, and everything still updates correctly on the FE as far as I can tell.
Likely a capacity or optimization issue.

OdinFun will succeed because there is no KOL shiller. Reminds me of early Bitmap vibes. Everyone is just slowly migrated towards it and the Ordfluencers were late so didn’t shill.

some thoughts on OdinFun (vs. OG Runes) - Kinda wild that OdinDog doesn’t have a real CT-TL raid or a leading KOL voice/shiller yet. Get some engagement farming for OdinDog, and we’ll see way more fomo soon. For example OdinCat, which actually has a semi-active CTO account (by OdinFun standards). Also, seeing Satoshi Nakamoto on OdinFun being close in mcap to SATOSHI•NAKAMOTO (#6 Runes) is jokes. The narrative is: bidding on a token named after BTC’s dev, deployed by OdinFun’s lol. Then you also have f.e. SPARKS probably the token currently most involved with it's community, attracting both western and asian realms. - OdinFun meta is really enjoyable, but it really highlights how hard OG Rune believers grinded for months, keeping their communities alive. The real challenge for OdinFun tokens is building actual conviction and communities. It's too easy to just one-clip-out and cope-fud the token after your own exit (pathetic btw). Exiting a community on OdinFun is as easy as breaking your diet when you’re standing in front of the best döner kebab in town. But that’s exactly why Ordinals and BRC20s thrived in the past -> friction kept conviction alive. Being forced to believe in something has its own perks, haha. • Next Steps for OdinFun? 1. Solana deposits = #1 priority 2. PnL cards w/ Ref-links (onboard the masses through ponzinomics like BullX and Co.) 3. Dev-Sold & Dev-Bought pings on chart (and yeah, fix the charts in general pls) 4. Twitter verification & social cards 5. In-app token transfers (airdrop & increase holder spread) 6. Snapshots & other tools to push retention 7. Too brain-fried to theorycraft more catalysts today, but plenty of ways to level this up.
