every career decision i've made since my time there has been hugely informed by how thoughtful and inclusive the sf bureau was last summer. it was a really good crew, and I wish that future interns had the chance to learn from these really talented and generous journalists.

jason was one of my biggest advocates, even going so far as to request a metal printing plate be shipped to SF after I wrote my a-hed!! my non-media friends know my former colleagues' names because I wouldn't stop raving in group chats about how great and supportive they were.

an understated part of the awful @wsj tech layoffs is the amount of mentorship the paper just lost. interning in the sf bureau solidified my want to pursue tech journalism, but it more importantly taught me about the type of people and editors I want to work with.
