@cookiejargolf Big time Rye vibes with that logo.
Had never heard of this course - seems like a great add on to a Brancaster/Hunstanton/Royal Cromer trip.

Discovering unique courses is central to who we are, so it is no surprise that Great Yarmouth & Caister is still on our minds.
Within a racetrack but brilliant land movement and heaps of quirk to keep you on your toes. Add in its 144 year history and its place as the home of Bogey, and it's £55 well spent in our eyes for an incredibly memorable days golf.

@BigChick3nDinna @TourPicks Ahhh that’s right. Congrats to you and the Mrs.!!
We will find a way

@YeahClickClack @TourPicks Gunna have to get through my lil bundle of joy 😂 but yes this summer either I'll come to you or happy to host at skyway

I have time to play two (2) London heathland courses solo on a Wed pm and Thurs am in early August near LHR. I’ve played the following: Sunningdale New and Old, Swinley Forest, St. George’s Hill, Walton Heath Old and Huntercombe. Early favorites; The Addington, Worplesdon, New Zealand, Woking and The Berkshire. Any thoughts or opinions? I know in advance that Woking has (4 ball) restrictions on guest play. 🙏 in advance for opinions and insight.

@Bdeniso @LINKSMagazine @PinehurstResort @PineNeedlesGolf @TheBroadmoor @OmniHomestead I like that - almost 2 years ago at this point since I posted that orig list so may be a little reshuffling if I did it today
English

@YeahClickClack @LINKSMagazine @PinehurstResort @PineNeedlesGolf @TheBroadmoor @OmniHomestead I’m fine with 3 and 4 being 3 and 4 but put the the line under not above them!

The bulk of the greatest courses in the U.S. emerged in the Golden Age of golf design, when master practitioners such as Ross, Tillinghast, Thomas, Flynn, and MacKenzie were plying their trade.

@mulvihill79 Good stuff as always - a few add’l notes:
• more than doubled 2023 Final (USA/JPN)
• entire WBC Tourny was up double vs 2023
• this year had the 3 most-watched WBC games all-time & 6 of top-7
Good luck to Missou today in the Tourament✔️

In internet years, this debate happened a century ago, but I weighed in today. S/o to @chadmumm for getting the ball rolling as he so often does on these matters.

Gabby is a truly great golf writer. I typed out "great golf writer in the making" and then deleted it because she's already great. Appointment reading every time.

In one infamous tale, a tour caddie takes a swing video for his player on the range, and a text pops up from the player's wife: "Did you tell him you're firing him yet?" Exploring the brutal realities of the caddie-player relationship, for @TheAthletic: nytimes.com/athletic/71078…

@Top100golfquest @pitchmarks @TheAddingtonGC Good to know. Seems like can’t go wrong with any of the 3.
English

@YeahClickClack @pitchmarks @TheAddingtonGC I’ve only played Walton and West Sussex. I preferred Walton but that could be more because the course suited my game.
English

@pitchmarks @Top100golfquest @TheAddingtonGC How would you rank Addington/Walton Heath (Old)/West Sussex?
English

@Top100golfquest Another vote for @TheAddingtonGC. I think it has more great architecture on the site than many of the great 36 hole clubs, and the (remaining) Old Course wasn’t even Abercromby’s best course for that club! But still utterly wonderful…

Great courses designed by architects you might not have heard of.

@andrewjcarr29 @chadmumm @b9bozzi You should get.
I just bought a custom hat through Imperial, embroidery. Would be a good skill to learn.

@YeahClickClack @chadmumm @b9bozzi Thank you!

Seeing some headcover discourse on the TL today. Is it really such a heinous crime to use headcovers from your favorite courses you’ve played at? I don’t even use any course-branded ones at the moment myself, but if I get to play somewhere truly special to me, it would be fun to commemorate the experience via my clubs. Obviously you shouldn’t be using ones from courses you haven’t played, but if you went somewhere and it meant a lot to you, there shouldn’t be an issue with using an accessory from there IMO.
Some of the takes I’m seeing lately are moving in the direction of “you aren’t allowed to display any logos of any clubs you don’t belong to anywhere on your body or bag,” and it’s getting a bit extreme.
You’re telling me you wouldn’t rock an ANGC headcover if you had the privilege of playing there?

@Hawksian @JPosnanski Great comp to Dean. I like those 30s STL teams, fun group
Always surprising to see Felix’s career pretty much over by ~31-32 y/o. He was arguably best SP in base ball for a 10 year stretch, ‘05-‘15 (Verlander/Sabathia may think otherwise)
I lean towards putting Johan & Felix in
English

@YeahClickClack @JPosnanski Dizzy Dean is a very close comp to Santana so I would put him in although I can see arguments that they both don't belong. Hernandez pitched longer, had a lesser peak than Santana and his career was ended naturally by ineffectiveness so he is a no for me.
English

Imagine you have one Hall of Fame vote. How do you possibly choose between Johan Santana and King Félix Hernández?
