I didn’t know why he was sending me that message, it doesn’t read like final words when you get them. He was always supportive of me, and I tried to be there for him. I wish I was awake when he texted but he knows that I sleep in from work. I think he wanted it this way sadly. He was always making a point to back my art, my relationship, my dreams, and I tried for him as well but he was never clear about his goals or aspirations. It just sucks

I’m a “high-functioning” AuDHDer which is how the medical establishment says my specific set of symptoms don’t prevent me from being profitable under capitalism for the most part. I’m lucky in that regard. But also, undiagnosed me could NEVER imagine living how I do now.

@JillFilipovic It’d be great to have extra allotted days for bad menstrual weeks actually. It’s the kind of “sick” men don’t experience - why stop women having access to this?

Workplaces should have paid leave that workers can take when they are sick. Most women can work while on their periods. If some are in severe pain, they should be able to call out -- ditto if someone has the flu, is having a miscarriage, whatever. But we do not need period-specific legislation that treats women like we're physically and mentally incapacitated for 3-6 days out of every month.

EXCL: The Green Party is considering giving ‘all workers who menstruate’ an additional 36 days’ paid leave a year, The Spectator can reveal. Under the proposals, businesses would be forced to allow staff to take three days off every month during menstruation. Employees would not have to present a doctor’s note, and the time off would not be recorded as sickness absence or deducted from annual leave. The plan is laid out in a motion for Green Party Conference. The motion - which specifically refers to ‘workers who menstruate’ rather than ‘women’ - has been submitted by a male party member. It could become official party policy in October this year.
